Boron: isotope data. Both isotopes of Boron, B-10 and B-11, are used extensively in the nuclear industry. B-10 is used in the form of boric acid as a chemical shim in pressurizedwater reactors while in the form of sodium pentaborate it is used for standby liquid control systems in boiling water reactors.

olga55 [171]

The process involving separation of liquid/solid mixture as regards this question is Decantation.

 • Decantation can be regarded as one of the process used in separation of liquid from solid as well as other immiscible (non-mixing) liquids through the removal of the liquid layer that is present at the top from the layer of solid/liquid which present at the below.
 • In the process, the liquid will be poured slowly into another vessel as the pouring continues, then the solid will settle in the original vessel.
 • This process can be done through tilting the mixture after the the top layer have been poured out.

Therefore, decantation is one of the separation technique.

The second law states that the acceleration of an object is dependent upon two variables - the net force acting upon the object and the mass of the object. F = ma; a = F/m. This means that Force over the mass. In order to improve the acceleration without redesigning is that the company has to improve the force assuming that the mass is still the same.

Why does thermal energy decreases when potassium is dissolved in water
Levart [38]

Answer:

The process of dissolving can be endothermic (temperature goes down) or exothermic (temperature goes up).

When water dissolves a substance, the water molecules attract and “bond” to the particles (molecules or ions) of the substance causing the particles to separate from each other.

The “bond” that a water molecule makes is not a covalent or ionic bond. It is a strong attraction caused by water’s polarity.

It takes energy to break the bonds between the molecules or ions of the solute.

Energy is released when water molecules bond to the solute molecules or ions.

If it takes more energy to separate the particles of the solute than is released when the water molecules bond to the particles, then the temperature goes down (endothermic).

If it takes less energy to separate the particles of the solute than is released when the water molecules bond to the particles, then the temperature goes up (exothermic).
