Physics

Answer:

V = 42.41cm^3

Explanation:

In order to calculate the volume of the solid, you use the following formula:

V=\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h

where

r: radius of the circular base of the cone = 3 cm

h: height from the circular base to the peak of the cone = 4.5 cm

You replace the values of r and h in the formula for the volume V:

V=\frac{1}{3}\pi(3cm)^2(4.5)=42.411cm^3\approx42.41cm^3

hence, the volume of the solid is 42.41 cm^3

There is a refrigerator running in a room, the heat flowing into the refrigerator from the outside is 40 J/s, and the refrigerat
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

(A) 140 j/sec (b) 1.26 K

Explanation:

We have given the heat heat flowing into the refrigerator = 40 J/sec

Work done = 40 W

(a) So the heat discharged from the refrigerator =heat\ flowing\ in\ refrigerator+work\ done=40+100=140j/sec

(b) Total heat absorbed =140 j/sec =140\times 3600=504000j/hour

Let the temperature be \Delta T

Heat absorbed per hour =504000 [tex]=400\times 10^3\times \Delta T

So  \Delta T=\frac{504000}{400000}=1.26K

Is it possible for an object that has a constant negative acceleration to change the direction in which it is moving? Explain wh
lozanna [386]
Yes! I think there are two ways you could go with this answer: 1) Acceleration is the change in velocity over time, it can be negative or positive. If you have an object that is already moving forwards in a straight line and give it a constant negative acceleration, it will slow down and then start going in reverse. 2)Velocity is a vector, meaning it has both magnitude and direction. In the example above, the acceleration is due to a change in magnitude, or speed (from +ve to -ve) but not a change in direction. Something that has constant speed but is changing direction is also accelerating (like something that is orbiting). You could use the earth as an example, which is constantly accelerating due to moving in a circle around the sun. At any time in the year you can say that in half a year's time the earth's direction will be reversed.

Two parallel wires carry currents in the same direction. If the currents in the wires are 1A and 4A and the wires are 5 m apart.
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

1.6\times 10^{-7} N

2.4\times 10^{-7} N

Explanation:

i_{1} = 1 A

i_{2} = 4 A

r = distance between the two wire = 5 m

F = Force per unit length acting between the two wires

Force per unit length acting between the two wires is given as

F = \frac{\mu _{o}}{4\pi }\frac{2i_{1}i_{2}}{r}

F = (10^{-7})\frac{2(1)(4)}{5}

F = 1.6\times 10^{-7} N

r'} = distance of each wire from the midpoint = 2.5 m

Magnetic field midway between the two wires is given as

B = \frac{\mu _{o}}{4\pi } \left \left ( \frac{2i_{2}}{r'} \right - \frac{2i_{1}}{r'} \right \right ))

B = (10^{-7}) \left \left ( \frac{2(4)}{2.5} \right - \frac{2(1)}{2.5} \right \right ))

B = 2.4\times 10^{-7}
