Explanation:

A balanced chemical reaction is a reaction in which there is equal number of atoms on both reactant and product side. Also, the mass of atoms or compounds present on reactant side equals the mass of atoms or compounds present on product side.

For example, CaSO_{4} + 2HCl \rightarrow CaCl_{2} + H_{2}SO_{4}

Molar mass of CaSO_{4} = 136.14 g/mol

Molar mass of 2HCl = 2 \times 36.46 g/mol = 72.92 g/mol

Therefore, sum of molar mass of reactants = (136.14 + 72.92) g/mol

                                                                       = 209.05 g/mol

Molar mass of CaCl_{2} = 110.98 g/mol

Molar mass of H_{2}SO_{4} = 98.07 g/mol

Therefore, sum of molar mass of products = (110.98 + 98.07) g/mol

                                                                       = 209.05

Therefore, we can see that it is true that when you balance a chemical reaction, you are making sure that the law of conservation of matter is obeyed.

Answer: yes, when you balance a chemical reaction, you are making sure that the law of conservation of matter is obeyed.

Justification:

1) When you balance a chemical reaction, you add the coefficients to make the number of atoms of each element in the left side of the equation (reactants) equal to number of atoms of the same elements in the right side (products).

2) Since, each atom has a unique atomic mass associated, it results, necessarily, that the mass of the atoms of the reactants is equal to the mass of the atoms of the products.

Balance the following chemical equation I would give anyone the brainiest for answering.
serg [7]

Answer :

Part 13:

The balanced chemical reaction will be:

Cu(NO_3)_2+Na_2SO_4\rightarrow CuSO_4+2NaNO_3

Part 14:

The balanced chemical reaction will be:

Cu(NO_3)_2+Na_2C_2O_4\rightarrow CuC_2O_4+2NaNO_3

Part 15:

The balanced chemical reaction will be:

Cu(NO_3)_2+2KOH\rightarrow Cu(OH)_2+2KNO_3

Explanation :

Balanced chemical reaction : It is defined as the reaction in which an individual element of an atom present on reactant side must be equal to product side.

Part 13:

The balanced chemical reaction will be:

Cu(NO_3)_2+Na_2SO_4\rightarrow CuSO_4+2NaNO_3

Part 14:

The balanced chemical reaction will be:

Cu(NO_3)_2+Na_2C_2O_4\rightarrow CuC_2O_4+2NaNO_3

Part 15:

The balanced chemical reaction will be:

Cu(NO_3)_2+2KOH\rightarrow Cu(OH)_2+2KNO_3

The antibiotic doxycycline is used to treat Lyme disease. A 100 mg dose of the antibiotic consists of 59.5 mg of C, 5.40 mg of H
never [62]

Answer:

C₁₁H₁₂NO₄

Explanation:

In order to determine the empirical formula of doxycycline, we need to follow a series of steps.

Step 1: Determine the centesimal composition

C: 59.5 mg/100 mg × 100% = 59.5%

H: 5.40 mg/100 mg × 100% = 5.40%

N: 6.30 mg/100 mg × 100% = 6.30%

O: 28.8 mg/100 mg × 100% = 28.8%

Step 2: Divide each percentage by the atomic mass of the element

C: 59.5 /12.0 = 4.96

H: 5.40/1.00 = 5.40

N: 6.30/14.0 = 0.450

O: 28.8/16.0 = 1.80

Step 3: Divide all the numbers by the smallest one

C: 4.96/0.450 = 11

H: 5.40/0.450 = 12

N: 0.450/0.450 = 1

O: 1.80/0.450 = 4

The empirical formula of doxycycline is C₁₁H₁₂NO₄

What is the pressure in a 245 L tank that contains 5.21 kg of helium at 27 Celsius
Kitty [74]

Answer:

(These are not rounded to the correct decimal)

130.94 atm

13,266.6 kPa

99,571.4 mmHg

Explanation:

PV = nRT

V = 245L

P = ?

R = 0.08206 (atm) , 8.314 (kPa) , 62.4 (mmHg)

T = 273.15 + 27 = 300.15K

n = 1302.5 moles

How I found (n).

5.21kg x 1000g/1kg x 1 mole/4.0g = 1302.5 moles

Now, plug all the numbers into the equation.

Pressure in atm = (1302.5)(0.08206)(300.15) / 245 = 130.94 atm (not rounded to the correct decimal)

Pressure in kPa = (1302.5)(8.314)(300.15) / 245 = 13,266.6 kPa (not rounded to the correct decimal)

Pressure in mmHg = (1302.5)(62.4)(300.15) / 245 = 99,571.4 mmHg (not rounded to the correct decimal)
