There may be an esoteric technical shade or nuance of difference.  But I've been an electrical engineer for 40 years now, and have always used them interchangeably.

(I would have answered your question by saying "No.", but this website won't accept an answer that's less than 200 characters long.)

What happens when exhale
polet [3.4K]
When you breathe in, or inhale, your diaphragm contracts (tightens) and moves downward. This increases the space in your chest cavity, into which your lungs expand. The intercostal muscles between your ribs also help enlarge the chest cavity. They contract to pull your rib cage both upward and outward when you inhale.

At what altitude above the earth's surface would the acceleration due to gravity be 4.9 m/s^2? Assume the mean radius of the ear
Mandarinka [93]
We apply the gravity calculation expressed in the formula: g=GM/r2
where G is the gravitational constant, m is the mass and r is the radius
r=√GM/g
(1)       Radius = √6.674e-11*5.972e24/8             = 7058 kms    Earth radius or surface of earth from center of earth= 6400 kmsSo r= 658 kms from surface of earth.
Gravity 8m/s2 will be at 658 kms from surface of earth.
(2) half gravity= 9.8/2= 4.9 m/s2     Radius=√6.674e-11*5.972e24/4.9                 = 9019 kms        Half Gravity will exist at 9019-6400= 2619 kms from surface of earth.

A 5.0-μC charge is placed at the 0 cm mark of a meter stick and a -4.0 μC charge is placed at the 50 cm mark. At what point on a
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

The distance from charge 5 μ C = 26.45 cm and the distance from - 4 μ C is 23.55 cm.

Explanation:

Given that

q₁ = 5 μ C

q₂ = - 4 μ C

The distance between charges = 50 cm

d= 50 cm

Lets take at distance x from the charge μ C ,the electrical field is zero.

That is why the distance from the charge - 4 μ C =  50 - x cm

We know that ,electric field is given as

E=K\dfrac{q}{r^2}

K\dfrac{5\ \mu}{x^2}=K\dfrac{4\mu }{(50-x)^2}\\\\\dfrac{5}{x^2}=\dfrac{4 }{(50-x)^2}\\\\\\5(50-x)^2=4x^2\\(50-x)^2=0.8x^2\\\\50-x =0.89x\\\ x=\dfrac{50}{1.89}\ cm\\\\\\x=26.45\ cm\\

Therefore the distance from charge 5 μ C = 26.45 cm and the distance from - 4 μ C is 23.55 cm.

A rock falls from the top of a hill to the bottom. The total energy of the rock at the top isn’t the same as the sum of its pote
mart [117]

Answer:

A) some of the rocks energy is transformed to thermal energy

Explanation:

If we neglect air resistance during the fall of the rock, than the mechanical energy of the rock (which is sum of its potential energy and its kinetic energy) would be constant during the entire motion, so the total energy of the rock at the top would be the same as the sum of its potential energy and kinetic energy at the bottom.

However, this not occurs, due to the presence of air resistance. In fact, air resistance acts against the fall of the rock, and because of the friction between the molecules of air and the surface of the rock, the rock loses part of its energy. This energy is converted into thermal energy of the molecules of the air.
