How many isomers are there with the formula c3h4? include both structural and geometric isomers?
sleet_krkn [62]
There are three possible Isomers for Molecular Formula C₃H₄. Isomers are;

                                           1) Propyne

                                           2) Propa-1,2-diene

                                           3) Cyclopropene

Structures of all three isomers are given below.

There are no geometrical isomers for given molecular formula because geometrical isomers are formed in compounds containing double bond with at least two bulky groups at both sp² hybridized carbons. In given isomers, propyne does not contain any double bond, Propa-1,2-diene is symmetrical in nature while cyclopropene is a 3-membered ring. And for cycloalkenes there must be other groups attached to ring other than Hydrogen atom, hence cyclopropene does not contain any other group, so it can not show geometrical isomerism.

Consider the following reaction at 298 K.
Jlenok [28]

Answer and Explanation:

The reaction is in the gas phase, so the equilibrium constant is expressed in terms of the partial pressures (P) of the products and reactants, as follows:

Kp = \frac{P^{2}_{SO_{3}  } }{P_{SO_{2}} ^{2}P_{O_{2}}  }

We have the following data:

P(SO₃) = 2.6 atm

P(O₂) = 0.43 atm

We need Kp for this reaction. We can assume that in Appendix 4 we found that Kp = 7 x 10²⁴.

Then, we introduce the data in the equilibrium constant expression to calculate the partial pressure f SO₂ (PSO₂), as follows:

P_{SO_{2} } = \sqrt{\frac{P_{SO_{3} } ^{2} }{Kp P_{O_{2} } } } = \sqrt{\frac{(2.6 atm)^{2} }{(7 x 10^{24)}(0.43 atm) } } = 1.5 x 10^{-12} atm

Therefore, the partial pressure of SO₂ is 1.5 x 10⁻¹² atm (for the given Kp).

In a chemical reaction, substrate molecule A is broken down to form one molecule of product B and one molecule of product C. The
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

The answer to your question is d. 0.5 M

Explanation:

Data

[A] = 1M

K = 0.5

Concentration of B and C at equilibrium = x

Concentration of A at equilibrium = 1 - x

Equation of equilibrium

                                       k = \frac{[B][C]}{A}

Substitution

                                       0.5 = \frac{[x][x]}{1 - x}

Simplification

                                       0.5 = \frac{x^{2}}{1 - x}

Solve for x

                                      0.5(1 - x) = x²

                                      0.5 - 0.5x = x²

                                       x² + 0.5x - 0.5 = 0

Find the roots             x₁ = 0.5     x₂ = -1

There are no negative concentrations so the concentration of A at equilibrium is

                       [A] = 1 - 0.5

                             = 0.5 M
