Answer:

The number of electrons that must be moved from one electrode to the other to accomplish this is 1.4 X 10⁹ electrons.

Explanation:

<u>Step 1:</u> calculate the charge on each electrode

Given;

Electric field strength = 2.0 X 10⁶ N/C

The distance between the electrode = 1mm = 1 X 10⁻³ m

Electric field strength (E) = Force (F)/Charge (q)

E =\frac{Kq}{r^2}

where;

E is the electric field strength = 2.0 X 10⁶ N/C

K is coulomb's constant = 8.99 X 10⁹ Nm²/C²

r is the distance between the electrodes = 1 X 10⁻³ m

q is the charge in each electrode = ?

q = \frac{Er^2}{K} = \frac{(2X10^6)(1X10^{-3})^2}{8.99 X10 ^9} = 0.2225 X 10⁻⁹ C

The charge on each electrode is 0.2225 X 10⁻⁹ C

<u>Step 2:</u> calculate the number of electrons to be moved from one electrode to the other.

1 electron contains 1.602 X 10⁻¹⁹ C

So, 0.2225 X 10⁻⁹ C will contain how many electrons ?

= (0.2225 X 10⁻⁹)/(1.602 X 10⁻¹⁹)

= 1.4 X 10⁹ electrons

Therefore, the number of electrons that must be moved from one electrode to the other to accomplish this is 1.4 X 10⁹ electrons.

A sound wave with a frequency of 300 hertz is traveling through a medium at a speed of 320 meters/second. What is its wavelength
melamori03 [73]
1. The wavelength is the ratio of the wave's speed to its frequency in hertz or 1/s. This is shown below,
                           λ = s / f = (320 m/s)  / (300 1/s) = 1.07 m
The wavelength is approximately 1.07 m.

WARRIOR [948]

Given that,

A whale dives at an angle of 24 degrees to the horizontal surface of the water.

The whale continues in a straight line 145 m.

To find,

The horizontal and vertical components of the displacement of the whale.

Solution,

The horizontal component of displacement is :

d_x=d\cos\theta\\\\=145\times \cos(24)\\\\=132.46\ m

The vertical component of displacement is :

d_y=d\sin\theta\\\\=145\times \sin(24)\\\\=58.97\ m

<h3>Hence, the horizontal and vertical components of the displacement of the whale are 132.46 m and 58.97 m.</h3>

Examine MSDS for hydrogen peroxide 3% and hydrogen peroxide 30% from the same manufacturer. Compare the information contained in
Zinaida [17]

Answer:

The chemical is the same but the concentration is different.

The chemical is more dangerous in its highly concentrated form.

Although the chemicals are the same, they require different handling procedures. Therefore specific information should be available for each.

lana [24]

Answer:8.28 km

Explanation:

Given

First it drifts 45^{\circ} 2.5 km

r_1=2.5cos45 i+2.5sin45 j

Secondly it drifts 60^{\circ} 4.70 km

r_{12}=4.7cos60 i-4.7sin60 j

After that it drifted along east direction 5.1 km

r_{23}=5.1 i

After that it drifts 55^{\circ} 7.2 km

r_{34}=-7.2cos55 i-7.2sin55 j

After that it drifts 5^{\circ} 2.8 km

r_{54}=-2.8cos5 i+2.8sin5 j

r_{5O}=\left [ 2.5cos45+4.7cos60+5.1-7.2cos55-2.8cos5\right ]\hat{i}+\left [ 2.5sin45-4.7sin60-7.2sin55+2.8sin5\right ]\hat{j}

r_{5O}=2.299\hat{i}-7.95\hat{j}

|r_{5O}|=8.28 km

for direction

tan\theta =\frac{7.95}{2.299}=3.4580

\theta =73.87^{\circ} south of east
