As per the question we have been given the element platinum.we are asked to calculate the number of protons and electrons of the neutral atom just before platinum in the periodic table.

A neutral atom is that atom which has no charge. It is so as it contains same number of protons and neutrons.

Before going get our solution first we have to know something about the atomic number of an element.The atomic number of an element is defined as the number of protons present inside the nucleus or the number of electrons present in a stable isolated atom which is neutral in nature.

Hence atomic number Z= Number of protons= number of electrons in an neutral atom.

we know that platinum is present in 6th period of the modern periodic table.The atomic number of platinum is 78.Hence the element which comes just before platinum and  neutral is Iridium. It has an atomic number of 77.

Hence the number protons present inside it's nucleus is 77.

A neutral atom of Iridium must contain 77 number of electrons.

Hence a neutral atom of the element  which comes just before platinum has 77 protons and 77 electrons.

We are tasked to identify the number of electrons and the number of protons under the condition of neutral atoms. We already know that the molecular weight of platinum is 195.06 and the atomic number is 78. Therefore, a neutral atom of the element that comes just come before platinum in the periodic table has 78 electrons and 78 protons.

Consider a double-slit with a distance between the slits of 0.04 mm and slit width of 0.01 mm. Suppose the screen is a distance
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

The distance between the places where the intensity is zero due to the double slit effect is 15 mm.

Explanation:

Given that,

Distance between the slits = 0.04 mm

Width = 0.01 mm

Distance between the slits and screen = 1 m

Wavelength = 600 nm

We need to calculate the distance between the places where the intensity is zero due to the double slit effect

For constructive fringe

First minima from center

x_{1}=\dfrac{\lambda D}{2d}

Second minima from center

x_{2}=\dfrac{3\lambda D}{2d}

The distance between the places where the intensity is zero due to the double slit effect

\Delta x_{d}=x_{2}-x_{1}

\Delta x_{d}=\dfrac{3\lambda D}{2d}-\dfrac{\lambda D}{2d}

\Delta x_{d}=\dfrac{\lambda D}{d}

Put the value into the formula

\Delta x_{d}=\dfrac{600\times10^{-9}\times1}{0.04\times10^{-3}}

\Delta x_{d}=0.015 =15\times10^{-3}\ m

\Delta x_{d}=15\ mm

Hence, The distance between the places where the intensity is zero due to the double slit effect is 15 mm.

How does electricity flow?
svp [43]
An electric current is said to exist when there is a net flow of electric charge through a region. In electric circuits this charge is often carried by electrons moving through a wire. It can also be carried by ions in an electrolyte, or by both ions and electrons such as in an ionized gas (plasma).

How long will it take a transverse wave to propagate from one end of the string to the other?
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

The time taken by a transverse wave to propagate from one end to another depends on the number of oscillation made by the wave itself. If the total number of oscillation of the wave is known, the time taken by the wave to propagate through can be determined.

Note that the term "period" is the time taken by a transverse wave to complete one oscillation. So if we know the number of oscillation made in one second by the wave and the total oscillation made, then we can know determine how long it will take a transverse wave to propagate from one end of the string to the other

What is the initial velocity of the object represented by the graph?
Arturiano [62]

Initial velocity of the object: 5 m/s

Explanation:

The figure in the problem is missing: find it in attachment.

The graph in the figure represents the velocity of an object (v) versus the time passed (t).

Here we are asked to find the initial velocity of the object.

This means that we have to find the velocity of the object when the time is zero, so when

t = 0

By looking at the corresponding value on the y-axis (velocity), we see that when t = 0, then

v = 5 m/s

Therefore, the initial velocity of the object is 5 m/s.
