Artemon [7]3 years ago
3 0

Answer:

H =2; I = 2; J = 2

Explanation:

Carbon is element 6 in the Periodic Table.

Start at element 1 (H) and count from left to right until you reach element 6 (C).

You get the electron configuration

C: 1s² 2s²2p².

Thus,

H =2; I = 2; J = 2

Using the solubility graph place the substances in order from most soluble (#1) to least soluble at 40°C. KNO3, NaClO3,KBr, NaCl
mestny [16]

Answer:

  • NaClO₃ > KBr > KNO₃ > NaCl.

Explanation:

The attached file contains the graph with the solubility curves for the four substances, KNO₃, NaClO₃, KBr, NaCl.

To determine the solubility of each salt at a certain temperature, you read the temperature on the horizontal axis, labeled Temperature (ºC), and move upward up to intersecting the curve of the corresponding salt. Then, move horizontally up to insersceting the vertical axis, labeled Solubility (g/100g of H₂O), to read the solubility.

The higher the reading on the vertical axis, the higher the solubility.

The red vertical line that I added is at a temperature of 40ºC.

The number in blue indicate the order in which the solubility curves are intersected at that temperature:

  • 4: NaCl: this is the lowest solubility
  • 3: KNO₃: this is the second lowest solubility
  • 2: KBr: this is the third lowest solubility
  • 1: NaClO₃: this is the highest solubility.

Thus, the rank, from most soluble to least soluble is:

  • NaClO₃ > KBr > KNO₃ > NaCl.

You have been asked to prove that the Oil Spill Eater speeds up the reaction as you found above. Describe the basic set up of a
andriy [413]

Answer:

The correct answer is option 3. Run a test reaction of crude oil with ocean water over time with Oil Spill Eater present

Explanation:

In any laboratory experiment, all the apparatus needed to carry out a particular experiment must be provided. In this case, our apparatus will be crude oil with ocean water and oil spill eater which is the enzyme used.

We can then run a test reaction of crude oil with ocean water over time with Oil Spill Eater present.

Why sulphur has two melting point values
Fofino [41]

I don't know how well known/accepted this is (it's in my textbook so I'm guessing it's right), but Sulphur has two forms - the alpha and beta forms ,apparently gamma sulphur exists as well.

The alpha form is rhombic, yellow in color and has a MP of 385.8 K. The beta form is colorless and has a MP of 393 K and is formed by melting rhombic sulphur and cooling it till a crust forms on top. Poke a hole and pour out the liquid inside and you get beta sulphur. The transition point is 369K - below it, alpha sulphur is stable and above it, beta sulphur is stable. Both have helped. I had to pull out an old textbook and that's something that I don't usually do.
