Answer:

6 elements which are  carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus

Explanation:

Living organisms are made up of various unit of giant organic molecules that have been produced through life processes.

The bulk of elements that makes up living organisms are carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus.

Carbon is almost present everywhere in living organisms. It's unique ability to form a key component lies on its bond formation capabilities. Carbon is found in nearly all organic molecules like carbohydrates, proteins, fats and oils, e.t.c

Hydrogen like carbon is key to life. It is light and making it form different bond types with carbon. It is one of the atoms that makes up water.

Nitrogen is usually found in proteins. They are unique elements that life cannot do without.

Oxygen is useful in respiration processes and it is the bedrock through which energy is released from glucose.

Sulfur is key to life.

Phosphorus in Adenosine Diphosphate is a good store of energy.

1. A sample of oxygen is collected over water at 22 ° C and 762 torr. What is the partial pressure of the dry oxygen? The vapor
Rom4ik [11]

Answer: The partial pressure of the dry oxygen is 742 torr

Explanation:

Dalton's Law of Partial Pressure states that the total pressure exerted by a mixture of gases is the sum of partial pressure of each individual gas present. Thus P(total)=P_1+P_2 .........

Given; Total pressure = 762 torr

partial pressure of water = 19.8 torr

partial pressure of dry oxygen = ? torr

Total pressure  = partial pressure of water + partial pressure of dry oxygen

762 torr = 19.8 torr = partial pressure of dry oxygen

partial pressure of dry oxygen = 742 torr

The partial pressure of the dry oxygen is 742 torr

The reason an increase in substrate concentration does not increase the reaction rate indefinitely is because
scoundrel [369]

Answer:

Increasing substrate concentration also increases the rate of reaction to a certain point. Once all of the enzymes have bound, any substrate increase will have no effect on the rate of reaction, as the available enzymes will be saturated and working at their maximum rate.

Bob adds heat to a substance. When enough heat is added, A. its particles move closer together and the substance becomes a gas.
Elena L [17]

Answer:

C. its particles move farther apart and the substance becomes a gas.

Explanation:

A. is wrong because moving closer together creates a solid, not a gas.

B. is wrong because moving father apart creates a gas, not solid.

C. is correct because moving farther apart creates a gas.

D. is wrong because when heat is added particles spread apart because they vibrate faster. Although, in a solid the particles are closer together.

- Just know the states of matter and how the particles move and that will help with this problem.

You have just completed assaying the change in absorbance for an enzyme. The initial absorbance was 0.022; the absorbance after
Hitman42 [59]

Answer:

The answer is 0.844/10 minutes

Explanation:

You have an enzyme that catalizes a reaction which gives a product that can be quantified by an absorbance measurement. The more reaction time, the more product quantity and higher absorbance.

The rate of the reaction is the change in products quantity per time unit. As you are using the absorbance as a measure of the product quantity, you can calculate the rate as the change in absorbance (ΔA) per time (in minutes) as follows:

rate= ΔA/time

rate= (final absorbance - initial absorbance) /minutes

rate= (0.444-0.022)/5 min

rate= 0.422/5 min

In 10 minutes will be :

rate= 0.844/10 min

Commonly, a rate is the relation between two quantities measured in different units. For example, the speed of a car is the change in meters (traveled distance) per time (m/s or km/h). For an enzyme, is the same (quantity of product/time).
