Answer:

a)  R = 2.5 mi   b)  To return to your case you must walk in the opposite direction or θ = 98º

This is 8º north west

Explanation:

This is a distance exercise with vectors the best way to work these is to decompose the vectors and perform the sum on each axis separately

To use the Cartesian system all angles must be measured from the positive side of the x-axis or the signs of the components must be assigned manually depending on the quadrant where they are.

First vector A = 2 to 20º north west

Measured from the positive x axis is θ = 180 -20 = 160º

We use trigonometry to find the components

     Cos 20 = Aₓ / A

     sin 20 = A_{y} / A

    Aₓ = A cos 160 = 2 cos 160

    A_{y}  = A sin160 = 2 sin160

    Aₓ = -1,879 mi

    A_{y}  = 0.684 mi

Second vector B = 4 mi 10º west of the south

Angle θ = 270 - 10 = 260º

    cos 2600 = Bₓ / B

    sin 260 = B_{y} / B

    Bₓ = B cos 260

     B_{y}  = B sin 260

    Bₓ = 4 cos 260

     B_{y}  = 4 sin 260

     Bₓ = -0.6946mi

     B_{y}  = - 3,939 mi

Third vector C = 3 mi to 15 north east

     cos 15 = Cₓ / C

     sin15 = C_{y} / C

     Cₓ = C cos 15

     C_{y} = C sin15

     Cₓ = 3 cos 15

    C_{y} = 3 sin 15

     Cₓ = 2,898 mi

    C_{y} = 0.7765 mi

Now we can find the final position of the person

    X = Aₓ + Bₓ + Cₓ

    X = -1.879 -0.6949 + 2.898

    X = 0.3241 mi

    Y = A_{y} +  B_{y} + C_{y}

    Y = 0.684 - 3.939 +0.7765

    Y = -2.4785 mi

a) We use Pythagoras' theorem

     R = √ (x2 + y2)

     R = √ (0.3241 2 + (-2.4785) 2)

     R = 2.4996 mi

     R = 2.5 mi

b) let's use trigonometry

     Tan θ = y / x

     Tanθ  = -2.4785 / 0.3241

     θ = tan⁻¹ (-7,647)

     θ = -82

Measured from the positive side of the x axis is Te = 360 - 82 = 278º

(90-82) south east

To return to your case you must walk in the opposite direction or Te = 98º

This is 8º north west

Calculate the average of the following numbers 6g, 8g, 10g and 4g
kupik [55]

Answer:

7g

Explanation:

To find the average, add all numbers, the divide by the amount of numbers there are. So

6 + 8+ 10 + 4 = 28

28 divided by 4 = 7

And just add g at the end... so 7g is your answer

A quantum system has three states, with energies 0, 1.6 × 10-21, and 1.6 × 10-21, in Joules. It is coupled to an environment wit
xenn [34]

To develop the problem it is necessary to apply two concepts, the first is related to the calculation of average data and the second is the Boltzmann distribution.

Boltzmann distribution is a probability distribution or probability measure that gives the probability that a system will be in a certain state as a function of that state's energy and the temperature of the system. It is given by

z = \sum\limit_i e^{-\frac{\epsilon_i}{K_0T}}

Where,

\epsilon_i = energy of that state

k = Boltzmann's constant

T = Temperature

With our values we have that

T= 250K

k = 1.381*10^{23} m^2 kg s^{-2} K^{-1}

\epsilon_1=0J

\epsilon_2=1.6*10^{-21}J

\epsilon_3=1.6*10^{-21}J

To make the calculations easier we can assume that the temperature and Boltzmann constant can be summarized as

\beta = \frac{1}{kT}

\beta = \frac{1}{(1.381*10^{23} m^2)(250)}

\beta = 2.9*10^{20}J

Therefore the average energy would be,

\bar{\epsilon} =\frac{\sum \epsilon_i e^{-\beta \epsilon_i}}{\sum e^{-\beta \epsilon_i}}

Replacing with our values we have

\bar{\epsilon} = \frac{0e^{-0}+1.6*10^{-21}*e^{-\Beta(1.6*10^{-21})}+1.6*10^{-2-1}*e^{-(2.9*10^{20})(1.6*10^{-21})}}{1+2e^{-2.9*10^{20}*1.6*10^{-21}}}

\bar{\epsilon} = 0.9*10^{-22}J

Therefore the average internal energy is \bar{\epsilon} = 0.9*10^{-22}J

A 15 cm3 block of gold weighs 2.8 N. It is carefully submerged in a tank of mercury. One cm3 of mercury weighs 0.13 N.
BaLLatris [955]
The density of gold is  2.8 N / 15 = 0.18 units
The density of mercury is 0.13/1 = 0.13 units

Since the density of gold is more than density of mercury, it will sink.
Since the gold will sink, it will displace mercury, but less than its own volume

State: the units for acceleration are?
krok68 [10]

A unit of acceleration needs a unit of length in the numerator
and a squared unit of time in the denominator.

Example:    meters / second²
                    feet / minute²
                    smoots / hour²
                    furlongs / fortnight² .

Ideally, in order to completely describe an acceleration vector,
you also need to state a direction.
