A bond type with a difference in electro negativity of less than 0.4 would be classified as ...?

Chemistry

Answer:

Non polar covalent bond.

Explanation:

The covalent bond is polar when the electronegativity difference of bonded atom is greater than 0.4. If the electronegativity difference is 0.4 or less than this the bond will be non polar.

Covalent bond:

It is formed by the sharing of electron pair between bonded atoms.

The atom with larger electronegativity attract the electron pair more towards it self and becomes partial negative while the other atom becomes partial positive.

For example:

In water the electronegativity of oxygen is 3.44 and hydrogen is 2.2. That's why electron pair attracted more towards oxygen, thus oxygen becomes partial negative and hydrogen becomes partial positive and the bond is polar.

In case of F₂  the electronegativity difference is zero that's why the bond is non polar covalent bond.

Addition of a catalyst can speed up a reaction by providing an alternate reaction pathway that has a
kkurt [141]

Answer:

Addition of a catalyst can speed up a reaction by providing an alternate reaction pathway that has a lower activation energy

Explanation:

A catalyst is an agent that increases the rate of a chemical reaction by providing an alternate pathway for the reaction that requires a lower activation energy. As the requirement for activation energy is less in the presence of a catalyst, there are more reactant particles becoming involved in the chemical reaction and as such there are more products formed per unit time, or there is an increase in the rate of the reaction

Example of catalyst include

1. Addition of potassium permanganate to hydrogen peroxide to aid in the rapid decomposition into water and oxygen

2. Platinum serves as a catalyst in the complete combustion of carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide.

I'LL MARK U BRAINLIEST-How many kW does a nuclear power plant use in a year?
Lisa [10]

Answer:

Nuclear power comes from nuclear fission

Nuclear power plants use heat produced during nuclear fission to heat water. In nuclear fission, atoms are split apart to form smaller atoms, releasing energy. Fission takes place inside the reactor of a nuclear power plan
