Cyanobacteria are photosynthetic. They convert sunlight into energy and produce oxygen as a waste product. Back then, the Earth's atmosphere didn't have free oxygen in it as it does today. ... The cyanobacteria changed that.

In which of the following equilibrium systems will an increase in the volume cause the equilibrium to shift away from the reacta
Alenkinab [10]

Answer: 2NOBr(g) ⇌ 2NO(g) + Br2(g)

Explanation: For volume changes in equillibrium, the following are to be taken into consideration:

  • Volume changes have no effect on equillibrium system that contains solid or aqueous solutions.
  • An increase in volume of an equilibrium system will shift to favor the direction that produces more moles of gas.
  • A decrease in volume of an equilibrium system will shift to favor the direction that produces less moles of gas.
  • Volume changes will have no effect on the equillibrium system if there is an equal number of moles on both sides of the reaction.

2NOBr(g) ⇌ 2NO(g) + Br2(g) is the equillibrium system because there are more moles of products,therefore an increase in the volume of the reaction will shift to the right and produce more moles of products. Also both reactants and products exist in the gaseous state and does not have equal number of moles.

A balloon is filled with 2000 mL of air at a pressure of 2 atm. What is the volume of the balloon if the pressure is
artcher [175]

Answer:

800mL

Explanation:

Using Boyle's law which states that the volume of a given mass of gas is inversely proportional to the pressure, provided temperature remains constant

P1V1= P2V2

P1 = 2 atm, V1 = 2000mL ,

P2 = 5atm , V2 = ?

2 × 2000 = 5 × V2

Divide both sides by 5

V2 = 4000 ÷ 5

V2 = 800mL

I hope this was helpful, please mark as brainliest

Which has a greater volume, 10 grams of water or 10 grams of acetone?
WINSTONCH [101]

Density is defined as the ratio of mass to the volume.

Density = \frac{Mass}{Volume}          (1)

Mass of water = 10 grams

Mass of acetone  = 10 grams

Density of water  = 1 \frac{g}{cm^{3}}

Density of acetone  = 0.7857 \frac{g}{cm^{3}}

Put the value of density of water and its mass in equation (1)

1 \frac{g}{cm^{3}} =  \frac{10 g}{volume}

Volume of water =  10 cm^{3}

Put the value of density of acetone and its mass in equation (1)

0.7857 \frac{g}{cm^{3}} =  \frac{10 g}{volume}

Volume of acetone = 12.72 cm^{3}

Thus, volume of acetone is more than volume of water because the density of acetone is lower.
