The balanced equation for the above reaction is as follows;
2H₂ + O₂ --> 2H₂O
stoichiometry of  O₂ to H₂O is 1:2
number of O₂ moles reacted - 40.3 g / 32 g/mol = 1.26 mol
according to molar ratio
number of water moles produced = 2 x number of O₂ moles reacted
number of water moles formed - 1.26 x 2 = 2.52 mol
mass of water produced = 2.52 mol x 18 g/mol = 45.4 g
45.4 g of water produced

(c) O2 gas is transferred from a 3 L vessel containing oxygen at 4 atm to an evacuated 20 L vessel at a constant temperature of
Fudgin [204]

Answer:

After the transfer the pressure inside the 20 L vessel is 0.6 atm.

Explanation:

Considering O2 as an ideal gas, it is at an initial state (1) with V1 = 3L and P1 = 4 atm. And a final state (2) with V2 = 20L. The temperature remain constant at all the process, thus here applies the Boyle-Mariotte law. This law establishes that at a constant temperature an ideal gas the relationship between pressure and volume remain constant at all time:

P x V = k

Therefore, for this problem the step by step explanation is:

P_{1} xV_{1} = P_{2} xV_{2}

Clearing P2 and replacing

P_{2}= \frac{P_{1} xV_{1}}{V_{2} } = \frac{4atmx3L}{20L} = 0.6atm

The question is in the picture below
Rus_ich [418]

Answer:

\Delta\text{H}_1+2\Delta\text{H}_2-\Delta\text{H}_3

Explanation:

Hess's Law of Constant Heat Summation states that if a chemical equation can be written as the sum of several other chemical equations, the enthalpy change of the first chemical equation is equal to the sum of the enthalpy changes of the other chemical equations. Thus, the reaction that involves the conversion of reactant A to B, for example, has the same enthalpy change even if you convert A to C, before converting it to B. Regardless of how many steps it takes for the reactant to be converted to the product, the enthalpy change of the overall reaction is constant.

With Hess's Law in mind, let's see how A can be converted to 2C +E.

\bf{\text{A} \rightarrow 2\text{B}}                  (Δ\text{H}_1)  -----(1)

Since we have 2B, multiply the whole of II. by 2:

\bf{2\text{B} \rightarrow 2\text{C} +2\text{D}}       (2Δ\text{H}_2) -----(2)

This step converts all the B intermediates to 2C +2D. This means that the overall reaction at this stage is \text{A} \rightarrow 2\text{C} +2\text{D}.

Reversing III. gives us a negative enthalpy change as such:

\bf{2\text{D} \rightarrow \text{E}}                  (-Δ\text{H}_3) -----(3)

This step converts all the D intermediates formed from step (2) to E. This results in the overall equation of \text{A} \rightarrow 2\text{C} +\text{E}, which is also the equation of interest.

Adding all three together:

\text{A} \rightarrow 2\text{C}+\text{E}            (\bf{\Delta\text{H}_1+2\Delta\text{H}_2-\Delta\text{H}_3 })

Thus, the first option is the correct answer.

Nataly [62]

Answer:

Actinides

Explanation:

They are defined as "any of the series of fifteen metallic elements from actinium (atomic number 89) to lawrencium (atomic number 103) in the periodic table. They are all radioactive, the heavier members being extremely unstable and not of natural occurrence"
