Answer:

simple, Volt =change in potential energy/Charge

the unit of energy is newton meter (Force*distance)

the unit of charge is coloumb

So, Volt/meter=newton* meter/coloumb*meter

=newton/coloumb (hence proved)

This unit is the potential drop per unit of length in a conductive wire with uniform resistance

The small spherical planet called "Glob" has a mass of 7.88×10^18 kg and a radius of 6.32×10^4 m. An astronaut on the surface of
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer: The small spherical planet called "Glob" has a mass of 7.88×1018 kg and a radius of 6.32×104 m. An astronaut on the surface of Glob throws a rock straight up. The rock reaches a maximum height of 1.44×103 m, above the surface of the planet, before it falls back down.

1) the initial speed of the rock as it left the astronaut's hand is 19.46 m/s.

2) A 36.0 kg satellite is in a circular orbit with a radius of 1.45×105 m around the planet Glob. Then the speed of the satellite is 3.624km/s.

Explanation: To find the answer, we need to know about the different equations of planetary motion.

<h3>How to find the initial speed of the rock as it left the astronaut's hand?</h3>
  • We have the expression for the initial velocity as,

                           v=\sqrt{2gh}

  • Thus, to find v, we have to find the acceleration due to gravity of glob. For this, we have,

                       g_g=\frac{GM}{r^2} =\frac{6.67*10^{-11}*7.88*10^{18}}{(6.32*10^4)^2}= 0.132

  • Now, the velocity will become,

                        v=\sqrt{2*0.132*1.44*10^3} =19.46 m/s

<h3>How to find the speed of the satellite?</h3>
  • As we know that, by equating both centripetal force and the gravitational force, we get the equation of speed of a satellite as,

                       v=\sqrt{\frac{GM}{r} } =\sqrt{\frac{6.67*10^{-11}*7.88*10^{18}}{1.45*10^5} } =3.624km/s

Thus, we can conclude that,

1) the initial speed of the rock as it left the astronaut's hand is 19.46 m/s.

2) A 36.0 kg satellite is in a circular orbit with a radius of 1.45×105 m around the planet Glob. Then the speed of the satellite is 3.624km/s.

Light could be thought of as a stream of tiny particles discharged by _______ objects that travel in straight paths. *
Gelneren [198K]

Answer: Light could be thought of as a stream of tiny particles discharged by luminous objects that travel in straight paths.

Explanation:

We can define "radiation" as the transmision of energy trough waves or particles.

Particularly, light is a form of electromagnetic radiation, so the "tiny particles" of light are discharged by a radiating object, particularly we can be more explicit and call it a luminous object, in this way we are being specific about the nature of the radiation of the object.

Radon-222 ( 222/86 Rn) is a radioactive gas with a half-life of 3.82 days. A gas sample contains 4.1 e 8 radon atoms initially.
kow [346]

Answer :

(a) The number of radon atoms will remain after 12 days is, 4.67\times 10^7

(b) The number of radon nuclei have decayed by this time will be, 3.6\times 10^8

Explanation :

<u>For part (a) :</u>

Half-life = 3.82 days

First we have to calculate the rate constant, we use the formula :

k=\frac{0.693}{t_{1/2}}

k=\frac{0.693}{3.82\text{ days}}

k=1.81\times 10^{-1}\text{ days}^{-1}

Now we have to calculate the number of radon atoms will remain after 12 days.

Expression for rate law for first order kinetics is given by:

t=\frac{2.303}{k}\log\frac{a}{a-x}

where,

k = rate constant  = 1.81\times 10^{-1}\text{ days}^{-1}

t = time passed by the sample  = 12 days

a = initially number of radon atoms  = 4.1\times 10^8

a - x = number of radon atoms left = ?

Now put all the given values in above equation, we get

12=\frac{2.303}{1.81\times 10^{-1}}\log\frac{4.1\times 10^8}{a-x}

a-x=4.67\times 10^7

Thus, the number of radon atoms will remain after 12 days is, 4.67\times 10^7

<u>For part (b) :</u>

Now we have to calculate the number of radon nuclei will have decayed by this time.

The number of radon nuclei have decayed = Initial number of radon atoms - Number of radon atoms left

The number of radon nuclei have decayed = (4.1\times 10^8)-(4.67\times 10^7)

The number of radon nuclei have decayed = 3.6\times 10^8

Thus, the number of radon nuclei have decayed by this time will be, 3.6\times 10^8

when a 0.622kg basketbll hits the floor its velocit changes from 4.23m/s down to 3.85m/s up. if the averge force was 72.9N how m
scoray [572]

Answer:

Time, t = 3.2 ms

Explanation:

It is given that,

Mass of basketball, m = 0.622 kg

Initial velocity, u = 4.23 m/s

Final velocity, v = 3.85 m/s

Average force acting on the ball, F = 72.9 N

We need to find the time of contact of the ball with the floor. Let t is the time of contact. So,

F=ma\\\\F=\dfrac{m(v-u)}{t}\\\\t=\dfrac{m(v-u)}{F}\\\\t=\dfrac{0.622\times (3.85-4.23)}{72.9}\\\\t=0.0032\ s\\\\\text{or}\\\\t=3.2\ ms

So, the ball is in contact with the floor for 3.2 ms.
