Answer:

The material cost for making one ton of the brass sample that I have is $8149.04.

Explanation:

Density of copper = 8.96 g/cm^3 = 8.96×10^-3 kg/cm^3

Price of copper = $6.13/kg

Price of copper per volume = 8.96×10^-3 kg/cm^3 × $6.13/kg = $0.0549/cm^3

Density of zinc = 7.14 g/cm^3 = 7.14×10^-3 kg/cm^3

Price of zinc = $1.8/kg

Price of zinc per volume = 7.14×10^-3 kg/cm^3 × $1.8/kg = $0.0129/cm^3

Price of brass per volume = 0.0549 + 0.0129 = $0.0678/cm^3

Density of brass I have is 8.32 g/cm^3 = 8.32 g/cm^3 × 1 kg/1000 g × 1 ton/1000 kg = 8.32×10^-6 ton/cm^3

Price = $0.0678/cm^3 ÷ 8.32×10^-6 ton/cm^3 = $8149.04/ton

Answer:

  The Price of making 1 Ton of Brass is  =  $4180.4

Explanation:

Generally density of an alloy is mathematically represented as

              Z = \sum A *\rho

  Where Z is the Average density of an alloy

               A is the fraction of metal

               \rho is the density of metal

From the question we are told that  brass  is an alloy made of copper and zinc

 Let assume that the percentage of copper in Brass is y%

   The the percentage of the zinc would be  (100 - y )%

   Substituting this into the formula

                8.32 g/cm^3 =\frac{y}{100} * 8.96 + \frac{(100 -x)}{100} * 7.14

=>              832 = 8.96y  + 714 - 7.14y

=>             8.96y - 7.14y = 832-714

=>              1.82y = 118

=>                    y = \frac{118}{1.82} = 64.84%

    This implies that the percentage of copper in Brass is 64.84%

        This mean that the percentage of zinc in Brass is (100- 64.84) = 35.16%

   Generally One Ton of Brass =  907.185Kg

So amount of copper in this is

                   = \frac{64.84}{100} * 907.185 = 588.29 Kg

And the price would be   = 588.29 * 6.13 = $3606

And the amount of zinc is  = \frac{35.16}{100} * 907.185 =318.97Kg

And the price would be   = 318.97 * 1.80= $574.146

  The Price of making 1 Ton of Brass is  = 3606 + 574.146 = $4180.4

Which statements below are true?
Ilya [14]

The correct statements are that the speed decreases as the distance decreases and speed increases as the distance increases for the same time.

Answer:

Option A and Option B.

Explanation:

Speed is defined as the ratio of distance covered to the time taken to cover that distance. So Speed = Distance/Time. In other words, we can also state that speed is directly proportional to the distance for a constant time. Thus, the speed will be decreasing as there is decrease in distance for the same time. As well as there will be increase in speed as the distance increases for the same time. So option A and option B are the true options. So if there is decrease in the distance due to direct proportionality the speed will also be decreasing. Similarly, if the distance increases, the speed will also be increasing.

if you push a box a distance of 2000 meters with a force of 1 newton, how many calories have you used
kap26 [50]
Note that
1 J = 0.239 cal

By definition,
Work = Force x Distance

Therefore work done is
W = (1 N)*(2000 m) = 2000 J

In calories,
W = (2000 J)*(0.239 cal/J) = 478 cal

Answer: 478 calories

Fantom [35]

Answer:

Explanation:

Intensity of sound = sound energy emitted by source / 4 π d² , where d is distance of the source .

A )

Intensity of sound at 1 m distance = 60 /4 π d²

d = 1 m

Intensity of sound at 1 m distance = 60 /(4 π 1²)

= 4.78 W m⁻² s⁻¹

B )

Intensity of sound at 1.5 m distance = 60 /4 π d²

d = 1.5  m

Intensity of sound at 1 m distance = 60 /(4 π 1.5²)

= 2.12 W m⁻² s⁻¹

C )

Intensity of sound due to 4 speakers at 1.5 m distance = 4 x 60 /4 π d²

d = 1.5  m

= 4 x 60 /(4 π 1.5²)

= 8.48 W m⁻² s⁻¹

D )

Intensity of sound due to .06 W speaker must be 10⁻¹² W s ⁻² . Let the distance be d .

.06 /4 π d² = 10⁻¹²

d² = .06 /4 π 10⁻¹²

d = 6.9 x 10⁴ m .
