Answer:

The material cost for making one ton of the brass sample that I have is $8149.04.

Explanation:

Density of copper = 8.96 g/cm^3 = 8.96×10^-3 kg/cm^3

Price of copper = $6.13/kg

Price of copper per volume = 8.96×10^-3 kg/cm^3 × $6.13/kg = $0.0549/cm^3

Density of zinc = 7.14 g/cm^3 = 7.14×10^-3 kg/cm^3

Price of zinc = $1.8/kg

Price of zinc per volume = 7.14×10^-3 kg/cm^3 × $1.8/kg = $0.0129/cm^3

Price of brass per volume = 0.0549 + 0.0129 = $0.0678/cm^3

Density of brass I have is 8.32 g/cm^3 = 8.32 g/cm^3 × 1 kg/1000 g × 1 ton/1000 kg = 8.32×10^-6 ton/cm^3

Price = $0.0678/cm^3 ÷ 8.32×10^-6 ton/cm^3 = $8149.04/ton

Answer:

  The Price of making 1 Ton of Brass is  =  $4180.4

Explanation:

Generally density of an alloy is mathematically represented as

              Z = \sum A *\rho

  Where Z is the Average density of an alloy

               A is the fraction of metal

               \rho is the density of metal

From the question we are told that  brass  is an alloy made of copper and zinc

 Let assume that the percentage of copper in Brass is y%

   The the percentage of the zinc would be  (100 - y )%

   Substituting this into the formula

                8.32 g/cm^3 =\frac{y}{100} * 8.96 + \frac{(100 -x)}{100} * 7.14

=>              832 = 8.96y  + 714 - 7.14y

=>             8.96y - 7.14y = 832-714

=>              1.82y = 118

=>                    y = \frac{118}{1.82} = 64.84%

    This implies that the percentage of copper in Brass is 64.84%

        This mean that the percentage of zinc in Brass is (100- 64.84) = 35.16%

   Generally One Ton of Brass =  907.185Kg

So amount of copper in this is

                   = \frac{64.84}{100} * 907.185 = 588.29 Kg

And the price would be   = 588.29 * 6.13 = $3606

And the amount of zinc is  = \frac{35.16}{100} * 907.185 =318.97Kg

And the price would be   = 318.97 * 1.80= $574.146

  The Price of making 1 Ton of Brass is  = 3606 + 574.146 = $4180.4

Heather and Jerry are standing on a bridge 49 mm above a river. Heather throws a rock straight down with a speed of 17 m/sm/s .
lara [203]

Answer:

3.467 s

Explanation:

given,

distance , d = 49 mm = 0.049 m

initial speed of the of the rock, v = 17 m/s

time taken by the Heather rock to reach water

using equation of motion

s = ut +\dfrac{1}{2}at^2

taking downward as negative

-0.049 = -17 t -\dfrac{1}{2}\times 9.8\times t^2

4.9 t² + 17 t - 0.049 = 0

now,

t_1 = \dfrac{-(17)\pm \sqrt{17^2 - 4\times 4.9 \times (-0.049)}}{2\times 4.9}

t₁ = -3.47 s , 0.0028 s

rejecting negative values

t₁ = 0.0028 s

now, time taken by the ball of Jerry

using equation of motion

s = ut +\dfrac{1}{2}at^2

taking downward as negative

-0.049 = 17 t -\dfrac{1}{2}\times 9.8\times t^2

4.9 t² - 17 t - 0.049 = 0

now,

t_2 = \dfrac{-(-17)\pm \sqrt{17^2 - 4\times 4.9 \times (-0.049)}}{2\times 4.9}

t₂ = 3.47 s ,-0.0028 s

rejecting negative values

t₂ = 3.47 s

now, time elapsed is = t₂ - t₁ = 3.47 - 0.0028 = 3.467 s

1.58\times 10^{-4}\ \mathrm{s}$ is the time interval elapses before the back end of the rod receives the message that it should stop.

Given:

Length of the rod, L = 80 cm = 0.800 m

Young's modulus, Y = 20 \times 10^{10}\;N/m^{2}

steel density, \rho = 7.86 \times 10^{3}\;kg/m^{3}

The speed of the wave in the rod is,

$v = \sqrt{\frac{Y}{\rho}} = \sqrt{\frac{20\times 10^{10}\ \mathrm{N/m^2}}{7.86\times 10^3\ \mathrm{kg/m^3}}} = 5044\ \mathrm{m/s}$

Consequently, the length of the rod's end is traveled by the wave in at

$t=\frac{L}{v} = \frac{0.800\ \mathrm{m}}{5044\ \mathrm{m/s}} = 1.58\times 10^{-4}\ \mathrm{s}$

Hence, 1.58\times 10^{-4}\ \mathrm{s}$ is the time interval elapses before the back end of the rod receives the message that it should stop.

<h3>What are Newtons Laws?</h3>

The three fundamental laws of classical mechanics known as Newton's laws of motion describe how an object's motion and the forces acting on it interact. The following paraphrase of these statutes is available

Unless a force acts upon a body, it remains at rest or in continual straight-line motion.

When a force acts on a body, the force is equal to the time rate at which the body's momentum changes.

When two bodies exert force on one another, the direction and amount of the force are opposed.

Isaac Newton first identified the three laws of motion in his 1687 book Philosophize Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy).

They served as the cornerstone for classical mechanics as Newton used them to examine and explain the motion of numerous physical objects and systems. The conceptual foundations of classical physics have been reconstructed in several ways since Newton, utilizing various mathematical techniques that have revealed insights that were hidden in the original, Newtonian formulation.
