Answer:

velocity is 5 m/s

Explanation:

mass of astronaut (M)=100kg

mass of object (m)=10kg

Initially they are rest , so initial velocity (u)= 0 m/s

Final velocity of object ; v_1=10m/s

let final velocity of astronaut = v_2 (Unknown)

Now , By conservation of linear momentum

Initial momentum = Final momentum

(m + M)\times u = (m\times v_1) + (M\times v_2)

Now insert values

0 = (10 kg \times 50 m/s ) + (100 kg \: v_2)

Further simplifying

v_2=-\frac{500 kg-m/s}{100kg}

So,

v_2= -5\:m/s

So, velocity is 5 m/s (the negative sign is due to direction)

What is the mass of a 100-N crate of delicious candy
Svetach [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

weight ( w ) = 100 N

mass (m) = ?

WE know

g = 10 m/s²

w = m * g

or

m = w / g

m = 100 / 10

m = 10 kg

1. You get hit with a force of 45 N by a ball with a mass of 0.75 kg. How fast was the
dlinn [17]

Answer:

60 {ms}^{ - 2}

Explanation:

As we know,

=》Force = Mass × Acceleration

=》45 N = 0.75 × Acceleration

=》Acceleration = 45 ÷ 0.75

=》Acceleration = 60

hence, the Acceleration of the ball would be. 60 meters per second square

60m {s}^{ - 2}

6.A string of 100 Christmas lights requires 4 Volts and 2 Amps for a single bulb to light up. (a) When one light on the sting go
Molodets [167]

Answer:

Explanation:

From the information given,

V = 4 volts

A = 2 amps

a)

In the first instance, one light on the sting goes out and the whole string of lights no longer turns on. This means that the circuit is a series circuit.

b) Total voltage = 4 x 100 = 400 V

The current passing through each bulb is the same. Thus

Total Current = 2 Amps

Recall, V = IR

R = V/I

Thus,

Resistance = 400/2

Resistance = 200 ohms

c) In this case, one light goes out on the string all other lights still turn on. This means that the circuit is a parallel circuit

d)

The voltage is the same

Total voltage = 4 volts

Total current = 2 x 100 = 200 amps

Total resistance = 4/200

Total resistance = 0.02 ohms
