Answer: Burning fossil fuels contributes to climate change.

Fossil fuels are nonrenewable.

Explanation:

The fossil fuels are the nonrenewable sources of energy where as the hydrogen fuel cells are the renewable sources of energy which uses the energy harnessed from the hydrogen ions to generate electricity.

The burning of the fossil fuels to generate thermal energy can produce huge amounts of the poisonous and polluting gases liberated into the atmosphere. But the hydrogen fuel cells does not produce any polluting gas.

Fossil fuels are non- renewable as they cannot be used again after once used. But the hydrogen fuel cells are the renewable source of energy.

Dinitrogen oxide (N₂O) gas was generated from the thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate and collected over water. The wet ga
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

126.73 mL

Explanation:

The total pressure of the gas mixture is the sum of the vapor pressure of its constituents. So, the vapor pressure of N₂O(p) can be calculated:

750 = 18.85 + p

p = 750 - 18.85

p = 731.15 torr

It means that for 731.15 torr, N₂O occupied 130 mL. For the general gas equation, we know that

\frac{p1V1}{T1} = \frac{p2V2}{T2}

Where p is the pressure, V is the volume, T is the temperature, 1 is the initial state, and 2 the final state. For the same temperatue (21ºC), the equation results on Boyle's law:

p1V1 = p2V2, so:

731.15x130 = 750xV2

750V2 = 95049.5

V2 = 126.73 mL

A solution at 25 degrees Celsius has a pH of 4.48. What is the pOH of this solution?
just olya [345]

Hello :)

I just took the quiz, so let me give you a step-by-step explanation of how I solved the problem. Disregard the 25 degrees, it is not needed to find the answer

pH + pOH = 14

4.48 (4.48 is the given pH in problem) + pOH = 14

4.48-4.48 + pOH = 14-4.48 (subtract 4.48 from 14)

pOH = 9.52 (letter c)

Hope this helped :)

A florist prepares a solution of nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer by dissolving 5.66 g of NH4NO3 and 4.42 g of (NH4)3PO4 in enough
motikmotik

Answer:

0.00725 M

Explanation:

Considering for NH_4NO_3

Mass = 5.66 g

Molar mass of NH_4NO_3 = 80.043 g/mol

Moles = Mass taken / Molar mass

So,

Moles = 5.66 / 80.043 moles = 0.0707 moles

NH_4NO_3 will dissociate as:

NH_4NO_3\rightarrow NH_4^++NO_3^-

Thus 1 mole of NH_4NO_3 yields 1 mole of ammonium ions. So,

Ammonium ions furnished by NH_4NO_3 = 1 × 0.0707 moles = 0.0707 moles

Considering for (NH_4)_3PO_4

Mass = 4.42 g

Molar mass of (NH_4)_3PO_4 = 149.09 g/mol

Moles = Mass taken / Molar mass

So,

Moles = 4.42 / 149.09 moles = 0.0296 moles

(NH_4)_3PO_4 will dissociate as:

(NH_4)_3PO_4\rightarrow 3NH_4^++PO_4^{3-}

Thus 1 mole of NH_4NO_3 yields 3 moles of ammonium ions. So,

Ammonium ions furnished by (NH_4)_3PO_4 = 3 × 0.0296 moles = 0.0888 moles

Total moles of the ammonium ions = 0.0707 + 0.0888 moles = 0.1595 moles

Given that:

Volume = 22.0 L

So, Molarity of the NH_4^+ is:

Molarity = Moles / Volume = 0.1595 / 22 M = 0.00725 M
