Answer:

                     4.41 × 10¹⁷ Seconds

Explanation:

                   For this problem we will first find out the number of days in 14 billion years.

Remember that 1 billion is equal to 1,000,000,000 or 10⁹. So, 14 billion years will be written as 14,000,000,000 or 1.4 × 10¹⁰ years.

Therefore, In

                           1 year there are  =  365 years

So, In

                  1.4 × 10¹⁰ years  there will be  =  X years,

Solving for X,

                     X =  1.4 × 10¹⁰ years × 365 days / 1 year

                      X =  5.11 × 10¹² days

Secondly, as there are 24 hours per day and each hour has 60 minutes and each minute has 60 seconds, therefore, the number of seconds per day are calculated as,

Number of Sec/day = 24 × 60 × 60

Number of Sec/day = 86400 sec/day

Hence, If,

                               1 day has  =  86400 seconds

then,

                    5.11 × 10¹² days will contain  = X seconds

Solving for X,

                      X =  5.11 × 10¹² days × 86400 sec / 1 day

                     X  =  4.41 × 10¹⁷ Seconds

Describe how to make 1.50 liters of a 0.01 M ammonium chloride solution
Charra [1.4K]
Hello!

To know how many grams of Ammonium Chloride ( a solid) you'll need to make 1.50 L of a 0,01 M solution you'll need to use the definition of molar concentration (M=mol/L) in the following way:

1,50 L* \frac{0,01 mol NH_4Cl}{1L}* \frac{53,489gNH_4Cl}{1 mol NH_4Cl}=0,8023 g NH_4Cl

So, you'll need to dissolve 0,8023 g of Ammonium Chloride in 1,5 L of water to make this solution.

Have a nice day!

Equal volumes of H2 and O2 are placed in a balloon and then ignited. Assuming that the reaction goes to completion, which gas wi
nirvana33 [79]

The reaction is

2H₂(g)  + O₂(g) ---> 2H₂O

Thus as per balanced equation two moles of hydrogen will react with one moles of oxygen.

There is a directly relation between moles and volume. [One mole of each gas occupies 22.4 L of volume at STP]

Thus we can say that two unit volume of hydrogen will react with one unit volume of oxygen

Now as we have started with equal units of volume of both oxygen and hydrogen, half of oxygen will be consumed against complete volume of hydrogen

so the gas which will remain in excess is oxygen

In 200 g of a concentrated solution of 70.4 wt% nitric acid (r = 1.41 g/mL, FW(HNO3) = 63.01 g/mol), how many grams of water are
mars1129 [50]

Answer:

59.2 grams

Explanation:

We are given that 70.4% of the weight of the total 200 g of the concentration is made up of nitric acid, the remaining information is not required to solve the problem. Since water and nitric acid are the only components of the solution, the total weight of water is given by:

W = 200*(1-0.704)\\W=59.2\ g

There are 59.2 grams of water in this solution.
