The three ways in which a fossil can be destroyed after it has been formed are the following methods; • Crushed – a method of pressing are using intense pressure in means of destroying its original form • Melted – a method use of having to change a particular substance’s formation or appearance from having it to be solid to liquid • Moved or eroded – a way of having to wear out its natural agents in means of destroying it <span>

Why does a gymnast rub powder on his hands before exercising on a set of parallel bars? (I need a scientific answer)
dlinn [17]

<u>Answer</u>

To increase friction for a better grip.

<u>Answer</u>

Most human beings do sweat hands especially on the palm. When this happens the person will not have a good grip of heavy objects because they will slide/slip from the hand.

<em>By applying the powder, you are trying to make the hand dry hence increasing the friction for a better grip. </em>

If the gymnast doesn't do this the parallel bars may slip from the hands and injure himself or herself.

What is the longest wavelength of light that will emit electrons from a metal whose work function is?
alexdok [17]
 Best Answer:<span>  </span><span>hf = work function + KE
However if you are looking at the max wavelength (or threshold frequency) then there will only be just enough energy for the photoelectrons to be liberated, hence their KE will be 0.
So hf = work function
convert eV to joules, 2.4 x (1.6 x 10^-19) = 3.84 x 10^-19
therefore, hf = 3.84 x 10^-19
f = 3.84 x 10^-19 / planck's constant which is 6.63 x 10^-34
f = 5.79 x 10^14 Hz
c = frequency x wavelength,
wavelength = speed of light/frequency
= (3x10^8)/(5.79x10^14)
=5.18 x 10^-7 metres</span>
