Answer:

A - elastic since many other fast food items could be considered close substitutes.

Explanation:

The price elasticity of demand is how much the demand of the Big Macs will change due to a 1% change in price. Should the elasticity be greater than 1, the Big Macs will be elastic. Should it be less than 1, the Big Macs are inelastic.

Demand elasticity is calculated as the percentage change in quantity demanded divided by a percentage change in price.

Since Big Macs are (i) a luxury good, and (ii) have close substitutes (other burgers available at McDonalds and other fast food stores), we will say their elasticity is greater than 1.

This means that the demand of Big Macs will change due to a 1% increase in price due to the presence of close substitutes.

What disperses seeds?
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
The answer would be :People, animals, water & the wind.
The reason as to why these would be the answer is because the wind disperses seeds by blowing them through the air to different locations. The water washes the seed away to a location away from the parent. Animals disperse seeds, when they leave behind their waste and the seeds are in the waste. Lastly people disperse seeds in many ways, but one of them would be like throwing them into the grass, and ir planting them.

Calculate the potential energy of a 6kg bowling ball suspended 3m above the surface of the earth
Valentin [98]

Answer:  176.4 Joules

Explanation: Potential energy of a body is defined as the energy possessed by virtue of position.

Potential energy =m\times g\times h

m = mass of the body = 6 kg

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 ms^{-2}

h = height of body = 3 m

Potential energy =6 kg\times 9.8ms^{-2}\times 3m=176.4kgm^2s^{-2}

= 176.4Joules                 {1kgm^2s^{-2}=1Joule}

The High Speed Industrial Drill With Diameter Of 98 Cm Develops 5.85hp At 1900 Rpm. What Torque And Force Is Applied To The Dril
STatiana [176]

Answer:

The torque applied by the drill bit is T = 16.2 Nm and the cutting force of the drill bit is F = 33 N.

Explanation:

Given:-

- The diameter of the drill bit, d = 98 cm

- The power at which drill works, P = 5.85 hp

- The rotational speed of drill, N = 1900 rpm

Find:-

What Torque And Force Is Applied To The Drill Bit?

Solution:-

- The amount of torque (T) generated at the periphery of the cutting edges of the drilling bit when it is driven at a power of (P) horsepower at some rotational speed (N).

- The relation between these quantities is given:

                         T = 5252*P / N

                         T = 5252*5.85 / 1900

                         T = 16.171 Nm

- The force (F) applied at the periphery of the drill bit cutting edge at a distance of radius from the center of drill bit can be determined from the definition of Torque (T) being a cross product of the Force (F) and a moment arm (r):

                          T = F*r

Where,   r = d / 2

                          F = 2T / d

                          F = 2*16.171 / 0.98

                          F = 33 N

Answer: The torque applied by the drill bit is T = 16.2 Nm and the cutting force of the drill bit is F = 33 N.
