Christian made some pancakes she's so 3/5 of them in the morning and 1/4 of the remainder in the afternoon is she had 300 pancak
DiKsa [7]

Christian made 1000 pancakes.

Explanation:

Let us represent the total amount of Pancake made by Christian as = K

    From the problem;

 Christian ate \frac{3}{5} of the pancake in the morning =  \frac{3}{5}  * K =  \frac{3}{5} K

We know that Christian cannot eat her pancake and at the same time have it, the  remaining pancake will then be:

        total amount of cake - fraction eaten

Remainder = K -  \frac{3}{5} K=  \frac{2}{5} K

In the afternoon, we know that she ate 1/4 of the remaining cake:

        \frac{1}{5} K*  \frac{2}{5} K = \frac{1}{10} K

 The remaining cake in the afternoon will be:

    Total amount of cake remaining from morning - amount eaten in the afternoon

    =    \frac{2}{5} K -  \frac{1}{10} K

    =    \frac{3}{10} K

The fraction of the cake remaining in the afternoon is  \frac{3}{10} K

Since she had 300cakes left in the afternoon, then :

            \frac{3}{10} K= 300

                    K = 1000 pancakes

Therefore Christian made 1000 pancakes.

Tectonic plates are large segments of the earth's crust that move slowly. Suppose one such plate has an average speed of 6.0 cm
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

1.35×10⁻⁷ m

37.278 mi/My

Explanation:

Speed of the tectonic plate= 6 cm/yr

Converting to seconds

6=\frac{6}{365.25\times 24\times 60\times 60}

So in one second it will move

\frac{6}{365.25\times 24\times 60\times 60}

In 71 seconds

71\times \frac{6}{365.25\times 24\times 60\times 60}=1.35\times 10^{-5}\ cm

The tectonic plate will move 1.35×10⁻⁵ cm or 1.35×10⁻⁷ m

Convert to mi/My

1 cm = 6.213×10⁻⁶ mi

1 M = 10⁶ years

6\times 6.213\times 10^{-6}\times 10^6=37.278\ mi/My

Speed of the tectonic plate is 37.278 mi/My

Argon, atomic number 18, has an atomic weight of 39.9. Potassium, atomic number 19, has an atomic weight of 39.1. Which of these
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer: D

Explanation:

Atomic weight is measured by adding the number of protons and neutrons in an atom's nucleus. Argon's atomic number is 18 while potassium's is 19. This means that Argon will always have 18 protons while potassium will always have 19 protons.

To make the numbers easier to work with, round each atomic weight. We'll say the atomic weight of potassium is 39 and the atomic weight of argon is 40. To see how many neutrons each one has, I can set up a simple equation for each using the following equation:

Atomic weight = protons + neutrons

Potassium:

39 = 19 + N  -->  N = 20

Argon:

40 = 18 + N  -->  N = 22

An atom is defined by the number of protons it has, but the number of neutrons can vary. We call these isotopes, or atoms with the same number of protons but a different number of neutrons. As the math shows, argon typically has more neutrons per atom than potassium does.

Two identical satellites are in orbit about the earth. One orbit has a radius r and the other 2r. The centripetal force on the s
velikii [3]

Answer:

the centripetal force on the satellite in the larger orbit is _one fourth_ as that on the satellite in the smaller orbit.

Explanation:

Mass of satellite, m

orbit radius of first, r1 = r

orbit radius of second, r2  = 2r

Centripetal force is given by

F= \frac{mv^{2}}{r}

Where v be the orbital velocity, which is given by

v=\sqrt{gr}

So, the centripetal force is given by

F= \frac{mgr}}{r}}=mg

where, g bet the acceleration due to gravity

g=\frac{GM}{r^{2}}

So, the centripetal force

F= \frac{GMm}}{r^{2}}}

Gravitational force on the satellite having larger orbit

F= \frac{GMm}{4r^{2}} .... (1)

Gravitational force on the satellite having smaller orbit

F'= \frac{GMm}{r^{2}} .... (2)

Comparing (1) and (2),

F' = 4 F

So, the centripetal force on the satellite in the larger orbit is _one fourth_ as that on the satellite in the smaller orbit.
