The force on a particle is directed along an x axis and given by F = F0(x/x0 - 1) where x is in meters and F is in Newtons. If F

0 = 1.2 N and x0 = 3.3 m, find the work done by the force in moving the particle from x = 0 to x = 2x0 m.

Answer:

0 j

Explanation:

Work done from point p1 to point p2 is given by

Work = ∫ F.dr

Here we are given

F= F₀ (x/x₀ -1)

F₀=1.2 N

x₀=3.3 m

dr= dx (since distance changes along x-axis only)

We will calculate above integral between given points x=0 and x= 2x₀

Putting value of F  , x₀ and  dr

==> Work = ∫ F₀ (x/x₀ -1)

=∫ 1.2 (x/3.3 - 1) dx

= 1.2 /3.3

=∫(x-3.3)dx

=0.363636∫(x-3.3)dx

=0.363636 [ x²/2 - 3.3x]

we are given lower point value x= 0

upper point value x= 2 x₀ = 2× 3.3 = 6.6

putting lower and upper point values of x

= 0.363636 [ {0²/2-3.3(0)} - { (6.6)² /2 - 3.3 × 6.6}]

=0.363636 [ {0}- {43.56 /2 - 21.78}]

=0.363636 [ -{0}]

=0.363636 [0]

=0 j

A proton moves from a location where V = 87 V to a spot where V = -40 V. (a) What is the change in the proton's kinetic energy?
Art [367]

Answer: a) 127 eV; b) there is no change of kinetic energy.

Explanation: In order to explain this problem we have to use the change of potentail energy ( conservative field) is equal to changes in kinetic energy. So for the proton ther move to lower potential then they gain kinetic energy from the electric field.  This means the electric force do work in this trayectory and then the protons increased changes its speed.

If we replace the proton by a electron we have a very different situaction, the electrons are located in a lower potental then  they can not move to higher potential  if any  external force does work on the system.

In resumem, the electrons do not move from a point with V=87 to other point with V=-40 V. The electric force point to high potential so the electrons  can not move to lower potential region (V=-40V).

Letter C on the map labels which feature of the Middle East?
likoan [24]

Honest, the map is so tiny, and so fuzzy when I blow it up, I really can't see anything on it clearly.  But I think maybe I do see a letter ' C ' in the eastern Mediterranean, with a curved line over to the southern Gaza strip, where it meets Sinai.  So I'll say it's the Gaza Strip.

Answer: 3.5 seconds

EXPLANATION:

Using the formula:
v = u + at
And taking the upwards direction as positive, we have the following information:

u = 35 m/s
a = -10m/s^2 (this is acceleration due to gravity)

At the top of its path, the apple will have a velocity of 0 m/s, therefore:

v = 0m/s

Once you substitute everything into the formula, you get:

0 = 35 + (-10)t

Therefore, t = 35/10 = 3.5 seconds

The sun produces large amounts of energy. By what process does the sun produce energy?
AlladinOne [14]
The sun produces energy by converting gravitational potential energy into radiation via quantum processes in the nucleus of the atoms.

Since the mass of the sun and it's temperature are not quite enough to generate nuclear FUSION on their own, quantum tunneling is the primary process by which nuclear fusion occurs in our sun, SOL. FISSION also occurs as a result of this fusion.

Additionally, gravitational potential energy is also the reason that supernovae are so bright. Cool!
