A fairground ride spins its occupants inside a flying saucer-shaped container. If the horizontal circular path the riders follow

has a radius of 5.17 m, at what angular velocity will the riders be subjected to a centripetal acceleration whose magnitude is equal to 1.50 times the acceleration due to gravity?

Answer:

Angular velocity will be 2.843 rad/sec

Explanation:

We have given the radius r = 5.17 m

Centripetal acceleration a_c=1.5g=1.5\times 9.8=14.7m/sec^2

We know that centripetal acceleration is given by

a_c=\frac{v^2}{r}

And linear velocity is given by v=\omega r

a_c=\frac{(\omega r)^2}{r}=\omega ^2r

14.7=\omega ^2\times 5.17

\omega =2.843rad/sec

artcher [175]

The temperature at which the sample of liquid turns to gas at 135 °C is termed as boiling point.

Answer: Option A

<u>Explanation: </u>

The observation of conversion of liquid to gas indicates that there is occurrence of change in the state of matter. The inter-conversion from one state to another can be done by either varying the temperature or by varying the pressure.

In this case, the liquid on heating gets converted to gaseous state after attaining a particular temperature say 135 °C. So, this process of conversion from liquid to gaseous state on heating is termed as boiling.

The temperature at which a liquid converts to gas is termed as the boiling point of that liquid.

forsale [732]

Answer:

v = 5.24[m/s]

Explanation:

Este problema se puede resolver por medio del principio de la conservación de la energía, donde la energía potencial es igual a la energía cinética. Es decir a medida que el carrito desciende su energía potencial disminuye, pero su energía cinética aumenta.

E_{kin}=E_{pot}

Donde:

E_{kin}=\frac{1}{2} *m*v^{2} \\\\E_{pot}=m*g*h

Ahora reemplazando:

\frac{1}{2} *m*v^{2}=m*g*h\\\\0.5*v^{2}=9.81*1.4\\v=\sqrt{\frac{9.81*1.4}{0.5} }   \\\\v=5.24[m/s]
