The ion has a charge of 1 +.

A neutral ion would have the same number of protons and neutrons. The neutrons have no charge (they're neutral) so they don't matter when it comes to the charge of an ion. This ion has 30 protons (+) and 29 electrons (-). There is 1 more proton than there are electrons so the ion has a charge of 1 +.

There is a 3-kg toy cart moving at 4 m/s. Calculate the kinetic
energy of the cart.
m_a_m_a [10]

The kinetic energy of the cart is 24 J.

Explanation:

The acceleration of a given mass from rest to the velocity is known as kinetic energy. It gains energy from acceleration and remains in this state until the speed of the object changes.

The kinetic energy is the given by,

                           K.E = 1/2 mv^2

Given the mass m = 3 kg,        v = 4 m / s.

                            K.E = 1/2 \times 3 \times (4)^2

                          K.E  = 24 J.

According to the graph above, how large of a force is needed in order to stretch the string 1.00 meters?
gulaghasi [49]

My guess for this one would be; 400 N

My reasoning would be; it starts at 0 on both X and Y, if you need to get to 1.00 meters thats 4/4. 1/4 of 1.00 is .25, and on .25 its on 100 so multiply it by 4 to make 1.00 and you get 400 N
