Answer:

The impulse is -20kg m/s.

Explanation:

given mass of ball =  0.4 kg

The ball is moving towards left with the initial velocity = 30m/s

The momentum in left direction P1 = mv1

= (0.4)(30)

= 12 kg m/s

The given velocity towards right = -20 m/s ( negative sign shows inverse direction)

Momentum towards right, P2 = mv2

P2 = (0.4)(-20)

P2 = -8 kg m/s

The Impulse = change in momentum

= P2 –P1

= -8-12

= -20 kg m/s

A person walks in the following pattern: 3.1 km north, then 2.4 km west, and finally 5.2 km south. a) Sketch the vector diagram
zysi [14]

Answer:

d = 3.19 km

direction is given as

\theta = 41.2 degree South of West

Explanation:

Part b)

displacement is given as

d_1 = 3.1 \hat j

d_2 = 2.4 \hat i

d_3 = 5.2(-\hat j)

now we will have

d = d_1 + d_2 + d_3

d = 2.4 \hat i + (3.1 - 5.2)\hat j

d = 2.4 \hat i - 2.1 \hat j

total displacement is given as

d = \sqrt{2.4^2 + 2.1^2}

d = 3.19 km

direction is given as

tan\theta = \frac{-2.1}{2.4}

\theta = 41.2 degree South of West

How much work is done when a 25-N horizontal force is applied to a 10-kg box, causing it to move 5 meters?
Katarina [22]

Answer:

W=50*sin(25)

Explanation:

W=F*D*sin(25)

W=10*5*sin(25)

A wrestler weighs in for the first match on the moon. will the athlete weigh more or less on the moon than he does on Earth?
Firdavs [7]
The moon<span> is 1/4 the size of </span>Earth<span>, so the </span>moon's<span> gravity is much less than the </span>earth's gravity, 83.3% (or 5/6) less to be exact. Finally, "weight<span>" is a measure of the gravitational pull between two objects. So of course you would </span>weigh<span> much less on the </span>moon<span>.</span>
