Answer:

The impulse is -20kg m/s.

Explanation:

given mass of ball =  0.4 kg

The ball is moving towards left with the initial velocity = 30m/s

The momentum in left direction P1 = mv1

= (0.4)(30)

= 12 kg m/s

The given velocity towards right = -20 m/s ( negative sign shows inverse direction)

Momentum towards right, P2 = mv2

P2 = (0.4)(-20)

P2 = -8 kg m/s

The Impulse = change in momentum

= P2 –P1

= -8-12

= -20 kg m/s

The gravitational field strength due to its planet is 5N/kg What does it mean?
Dominik [7]

Answer:

The weight of an object is the force on it caused by the gravity due to the planet. The weight of an object and the gravitational field strength are directly proportional. For a given mass, the greater the gravitational field strength of the planet, the greater its weight.

Weight can be calculated using the equation:

weight = mass × gravitational field strength

This is when:

weight (W) is measured in newtons (N)

mass (m) is measured in kilograms (kg)

gravitational field strength (g) is measured in newtons per kilogram (N/kg)

A 4.3 kg steel ball and 6.5 m cord of negligible mass make up a simple pendulum that can pivot without friction about the point
Alekssandra [29.7K]

Answer

given,

mass of steel ball, M = 4.3 kg

length of the chord, L = 6.5 m

mass of the block, m = 4.3 Kg

coefficient of friction, μ = 0.9

acceleration due to gravity, g = 9.81 m/s²

here the potential energy of the bob is converted into kinetic energy

m g L = \dfrac{1}{2} mv^2

v= \sqrt{2gL}

v= \sqrt{2\times 9.8\times 6.5}

      v = 11.29 m/s

As the collision is elastic the velocity of the block is same as that of bob.

now,

work done by the friction force = kinetic energy of the block

f . d = \dfrac{1}{2} mv^2

\mu m g. d = \dfrac{1}{2} mv^2

d=\dfrac{v^2}{2\mu g}

d=\dfrac{11.29^2}{2\times 0.9 \times 9.8}

    d = 7.23 m

the distance traveled by the block will be equal to 7.23 m.

<h2>Answer:</h2>

All the energy sources are correctly matched with their category.

Explanation:

Renewable energy sources:

These are energy sources which can be replenished as they don't in involves the irreversible phase change.

These resources can never be ended as they can be used again and again.

Wind, geothermal, biomass, bio gas are example of renewable energy sources.

Non renewable energy sources:

These are the energy source which can never be replenished after one time use. They undergo the chemical irreversible change.

These sources are lacking with the passage of time because they can never be reused.

Oil, gas, coal and natural gas are examples.

What property do the following elements have in common? Li, C, and F A) They are poor conductors of electricity. B) Each element
Aloiza [94]

Answer: Option (D) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

The given elements Li, C and F are all second period elements. So, when we move from left to right across a period then there occurs increase in number of valence electrons as there occurs increase in total number of electrons.

So, it means more electrons are added to the same energy level.

Thus, we can conclude that a property of valence electrons for each element is located in the same energy level is common in the given elements.
