Answer: Option (b) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

The given reaction is as follows.

        4Li + O_{2} \rightarrow 2Li_{2}O

Also, it is given that 8 moles of lithium metal on reaction with excess of oxygen results in the formation of lithium oxide.

Let the number of moles of lithium oxide is x. 4 lithium atoms give 2 atoms of lithium oxide, therefore, divide the number of moles of lithium by half as follows.

   Number of moles of lithium = number of moles of lithium oxide

                                               8 = 2x

 or,                                         x = \frac{8}{2}

                                              x = 4

Thus, we can conclude that when 8 moles of lithium metal react with excess oxygen gas, then 4 moles of lithium oxide can be produced.

A block of aluminum with a mass of 140 g is cooled from 98.4°C to 62.2°C with a release of 4817 J of heat. From these data, calc
disa [49]

Answer:

specific heat = 0.951 j/g·°C

Explanation:

Heat flow equation  => q = m·c·ΔT

q = heat flow = 4817 joules

m = mass in grams = 140 grams Aluminum

c = specific heat = ?

ΔT = Temperature Change in °C = 98.4°C - 62.2°C = 36.2°C

q = m·c·ΔT => c = q/m·ΔT = 4817j/(140g)(36.2°C) = 0.951 j/g·°C

Which formula correctly represents the product of an addition reaction between ethene and chlorine?
Serjik [45]
The formula that correctly represents the product of an addition reaction between ethene and chlorine is  C2H4Cl2
Addition reaction occurs when an atom is added to a compound that has a double bond or triple bond (unsaturated hydrocarbons). Unsaturated compounds are associated with addition reactions. For example Ethene is an example of unsaturated hydrocarbon; when reacted with chlorine gas , chlorine atoms are added to each carbon atoms.
