Answer:

Orbital

Explanation:

Orbital, in chemistry and physics, a mathematical expression, called a wave function, that describes properties characteristic of no more than two electrons in the vicinity of an atomic nucleus or of a system of nuclei as in a molecule.

Answer:

An Orbital is the probability distribution of an electron in an atom or molecule.

Explanation:

As we know atom consists of sub-particles commonly known as protons, neutrons and electrons. The outer space around the nucleus where the probability of finding electrons is maximum is known as orbital. As the electrons are not precisely ordered around the nucleus hence it is not easy to tell the exact position of an electron.

Hence, four quantum numbers are used to locate the position of electrons around the nucleus.

   i) Principle Quantum Number:

This number explains the main energy level which tend to increase in energy as the distance of electrons from nucleus are increased. Principle Quantum Numbers are integer number ranging from one to infinity. Hence, increase in this quantum number results in increase of the size of orbital.

   ii) Azimuthal Quantum Number:

This Quantum Number explains the direction of particular orbital in 3-dimensional space. Also it is responsible for the shape of an orbital.

  iii) Magnetic Quantum Number:

This Quantum Number also tells the direction of orbital in 3D space with respect to x, y and z axis.

  iv) Spin Quantum Number:

This Quantum Number tells about the spin direction of an electron about its axis which may be clockwise or anticlockwise.

Describe how elements of different electronegativities can share electrons unequally, leading to the formation of a polar covale
Nesterboy [21]
A polar covalent bond is a covalent bond in
which the atoms have an unequal attraction for
electrons and so the sharing is unequal. ... The
atom with the greater electronegativity acquires
a partial negative charge, while the atom with
the lesser electronegativity acquires a partial
positive charge.

1.
How
many atoms of Li are there in 7.5 moles of Li?
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer: 4.52x10²⁴ atoms Li

Explanation: For 1 mole of Li it is equal to the Avogadro's Number.

Solution:

7.5 moles Li x 6.022x10²³ atoms Li/ 1 mole Li

= 4.52x10²⁴ atoms Li

Think about the different rules that describe how gases behave. To do this, refer to what you have learned about the two princip
VMariaS [17]

Answer:

Described down below.

Explanation:

Hello,

- Boyle's law: correlation between pressure and volume (assuming temperature and amount of gas remain constant). One common use of Boyle’s law is to predict the new volume of a gas when the pressure is changed (at constant temperature), or vice versa

- Charles' law: correlation between temperature and volume (assuming pressure and amount of gas remain constant). It is used to prove that the absolute 0 unattainable (T=0K).

- Avogadro's law: correlation between amount of gas and volume (assuming temperature and pressure p remain constant). As an example, since we can blow up a basketball, we are adding more gas molecules into it. The more gaseous molecules, the greater the volume.

- Dalton's law: correlation that states that for a mixture of gases in a container, the total pressure exerted is the addition among each pressure that each gas would exert if it were alone. It is useful to analyze the effects of which partial pressure might have on scuba divers. While the total gas pressure increases as a diver increases their descent, the partial pressure of each gas involved increases as well which might cause harm to the diver’s body if proper actions are not carried out.

- Gay-Lussac's law: it states that when the temperature of a sample of gas in a rigid container is increased, the pressure of the gas increases as well. An interesting example is shown when gun pin strikes, because it ignites the gun powder and this increases the temperature which in turn increases the pressure and bullet is fired from the gun.

Best regards.
