A liquid boils when it's vapor pressure will be equal to the atmospheric pressure. With the lid on, increases the pressure inside the pot. As an effect, it would take a higher temperature to reach the boiling temperature.

Answer: The boiling point will be raised.

How isa molecule of mercury different from a molocue of water
Genrish500 [490]

Answer:

The density of mercury molecule is higher than water.

Explanation:

Density is defined as mass per unit volume. In other words, density is the amount of matter within a given amount of space. water has the density of 1.0 gram per milliliter whereas the mercury has a density of 13.6 grams per centimeter squared.

One reason for the differences in density between mercury and water is that the atomic mass of mercury is 200.59 grams per mole. The atomic mass of water is 18.0 grams per mole. This is because mercury has a larger nucleus than hydrogen or water.

Additionally, there are strong inter-molecular forces (hydrogen bonds) between water molecules. hydrogen molecules do not stack upon one another as nicely as mercury atoms. Thus, there is additional empty spaces between the water molecules leading to its lower mass per volume(density)

What is needed to burn the candle (reactant)?
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

wax, candlewick, and oxygen

Explanation:

The burning of the candle is both a physical as well as a chemical change. The reactants are the substances or the raw materials that are required for a reaction to the process. In the process of burning a candle, the reactants are the fuel which includes wax and wick, and oxygen which is found in the air. The products found at the end of the reaction are carbon dioxide and water vapor.

A package contains 1.33 lb of ground round. If it contains 29% fat, how many grams of fat are in the ground round? The book is s
Effectus [21]

Answer:

To obtain the grams of fat that the ground round has, knowing that it weighs 1.33 pounds we must pass this value to grams. Since 1 pound equals 453.59 grams, 1.33 pounds equals 603.27 (453.59 x 1.33).

Now, to obtain 29 percent of 603.27, we must make the following calculation: 603.27 / 100 x 29, which gives a total of 174.94 grams.

In this way, your reasoning is correct and it is probably a mistake in the book.

What is the mass in grams of 85.32 mL of blood plasma with a density of 1.03 g/mL
sveticcg [70]
Well if you're looking for grams, all you need to do is cancel out units. (ml)(g/ml)=g because the ml cancels out. Thus, multiply: (85.32ml)(1.03g/ml)=...I'll let you solve this. :) Good luck! Hope that helped. When in doubt, look at the units.
