An astronaut on the moon throws a baseball upward. the astronaut is 6ft, 6 in. tall and the initial velocity of the ball is 30 f
Ainat [17]
The equation is garbled and the question is missing.

I found this equation for the same statement:

S = - 2.7t ^2 + 30t + 6.5

And one question is: after how many seconds is the ball 12 feet above the moon's surface?

Given that S is the height of the ball, you just have to replace S with 12 and solve for t.

=> 12 = - 2.7 t^2 + 30t + 6.5

=> 2.7t^2 - 30t - 6.5 + 12 = 0

=> 2.7t^2 - 30t + 5.5 = 0

Now you can use the quadratic equation fo find t:

t = { 30 +/- √ [30^2) - 4(2.7)(5.5)] } / (2*2.7)

=> t = 0.186s and t = 10.925 s

Answer: after 0.186 s the ball is at 12 feet over the surface, and again 10.925 s

How do lone pairs of electrons affect the bond angle differently than electrons shared in a bond?
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer:

Lone pairs cause bond angles to deviate away from the ideal bond angles

Explanation:

Bonded electrons are stabilized and clustered between the bonding electrons meaning they are much closer together. Non-bonding electrons however are not being shared between any atoms which allows them to roam a little further spreading the charge density over a larger space and therefore interfering with what would be an expected bond angle

chris and molly wins $2400 in a competition they share the money in the ratio2:3 how much money do they each receive ?
nlexa [21]

Answer:

chris gets 960 and molly gets 1440

Explanation:

add the ratio up and divide

2+3=5

2400/5=480

480x2=960

480x3=1440

960+1440= 2400

When a body of mass 0.25 kg is attached to a vertical massless spring, it is extended 5.0 cm from its unstretched length of 4.0
lora16 [44]

Answer:

d=0.165m

Explanation:

Given

m=0.25kg,x_{1}=5cm*\frac{1m}{100cm}=0.05m,x_{2}=4cm*\frac{1m}{100cm}=0.04m,v=2\frac{rev}{s}

The tension of the spring is

F_{k}=K*x_{1}=m*g

K=\frac{m*g}{x_{1}}

K=\frac{0.25kg*9.8m/s^2}{0.05m}=49N/m

The force in the spring is equal to centripetal force so

F_{c}=\frac{m*v^2}{r}

v=w*r=2\pi*r

But Fc is also

Fc=KxΔr

F_{c}=K*(r-x_{2})

Replacing

m*4\pi^2*r=K*(r-x_{2})

0.25kg*4\pi^2*r=49*(r-0.04m)

r=0.205m

total distance is

d=0.205-0.04=0.165m
