Chemistry

1. From grams -> mole:

=grams given x 1 mol/molar mass

So 150 g Cu x 1 mol Cu/63.546 g Cu = 2.4 mol Cu

2. From mole -> atoms

=number of mol x 6.022x10^22 atoms/1 mol

So 2.4 mol Cu x 6.022x10^22 atoms Cu/1 mol Cu = 1.4 x 10^24 atoms Cu

The molar mass of carbon dioxide is 44.0 g/mol. How many moles of CO2 are present in a 58.4 gram sample of CO2
inessss [21]

Answer:

1.33 moles CO2

Explanation:

The number you are converting is 58.4 g CO2, so you start with this value. The conversion factor is 44.0 g/mol CO2. In order to cross out the grams, the grams must go on the bottom of the conversion factor.

                                  1   mol CO2
58.4 g CO2   x   --------------------------    =    1.33 moles CO2
                              44.0   grams

The answer has three sig figs.
