Why is atmospheric pressure much lower on the top of a mountain than it is as sea level?

The atmospheric pressure lowers as you move up the top of a mountain because the air thins the air you go.
So the weight of the air reduces, and the force the air is able to exert reduces and hence the atmospheric pressure reduces as well.

How do you balance a chemical equation
Dominik [7]
There should be mass balance and the charge balance between the reactants and the products

Mass balance : total no of individual atoms of each type should be balanced before and after the reaction

Charge balance : Overall charge of the reactants should be balanced with the overall charge of the products

You can balance,

1)by just looking at it

2)by Algebraic method given above or

3)by the redox method

You need to know how to get the oxidation numbers in order to use the oxidation method

Nitrogen and hydrogen combine to form ammonia in the Haber process.
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

-105 kJ

Explanation:

The enthalpy change of a reaction is the sum of the energy of the bonds of the reactants and the products. The bonds at the reactants are being broken, so it's an endothermic reaction, so the bond energy must be positive.

The bonds at the products are being formed, so the process is exothermic, and the bond energy must be negative. There are being broken 1 N≡N bond and 3 H-H bonds, and are being formed 6 N-H bonds:

Reactants: 945 + 3*432 = 2241 kJ

Products: 6*(-391) = -2346 kJ

ΔH = 2241 - 2346

ΔH = -105 kJ

Which of the metals below will dissolve in hydrochloric acid, HCl? gold, Au copper, Cu silver, Ag magnesium, Mg
Lera25 [3.4K]
Magnesium (Mg)

The reason for this is the reactivity of the listed metals. Gold and silver are extremely unreactive metals. It is because of this unreactive nature that they remain in good condition for long periods of time, and are preferred in jewelry. Copper, although more reactive than gold and silver, is still not reactive enough to react with HCl.
The only metal that will react is magnesium.
