Complete Question:

A solenoid has a cross-sectional area of 6.0×10−4m2 consists of 400 turns per meter, and carries a current of 0.40 A. A 10-turn coil is wrapped tightly around the circumference of the solenoid. The ends of the coil are connected to a 1.5−Ω resistor. Suddenly, a switch is opened, and the current in the solenoid dies to zero in a time of 0.050 s. Find the average current induced in the coil.

Answer:

I = 1.65 * 10⁻⁵A

Explanation:

I = Absolute value[-N(d∅/dt)/R]

N = 10 turns

∅ = BA cos Θ

B = μηI

B = (4π * 10⁻⁷)(400)(0.4)

B = 0.0002 T

A = 6.03 * 10⁻⁴m²

∅ = 0.0002 * 6.03 * 10⁻⁴

∅ = 12.12 * 10⁻⁸

d∅/dt = (12.12 * 10⁻⁸)/0.05

d∅/dt = 24.24 * 10⁻⁷

I =Abslute value of [-10 * ( 24.24 * 10⁻⁷)/1.5]

I = 1.6 * 10⁻⁵A

Gravitational energy can be negative?
AlladinOne [14]

answer:

yes

explanation:

At a separation of the surface of Earth (r=6400km) gravity wants pull the test mass closer and closer. ... So the work done by gravity is NEGATIVE. The gravitational potential energy is negative because us trying to do the opposite of what gravity wants needs positive energy.

If the column of mercury in a barometer stands at 72.6 cm, what is the atmospheric pressure?
lakkis [162]

Answer:pressure = density * acceleration due to gravity * height

H=72.6cm= 0.726m

P=0.726*13.6*10^3*9.8

The main difference between turbojets and rocket engines is the fact that
mafiozo [28]

Answer;

D. rocket engines are not dependent on oxygen from the air.

Explanation;

-Jet engines and rockets work on the same principle. They produce thrust through an internal pressure difference and, as explained by Newton’s Third Law of Motion, eject exhaust gases in an equal and opposite direction.

-The main difference between them is that jets get the oxygen to burn fuel from the air and rockets carry their own oxygen, which allows them to operate in space.

Additionally, Jet engines have two openings (an intake and an exhaust nozzle). Rocket engines only have one opening (an exhaust nozzle).

Which Of The Following Statements Are True?
aksik [14]

Answer:

A) The north pole of a bar magnet will attract the south pole of another bar magnet.

B) Earth's geographic north pole is actually a magnetic south pole.

E) The south poles of two bar magnets will repel each other.

Explanation:

According to classical physics, a magnetic field always has two associated magnetic poles (north and south), the same happens with magnets. This means that if we break a magnet in half, we will have two magnets, where each new magnet will have a new south pole, and a new north pole.

This is because for classical physics, naturally, magnetic monopoles can not exist.

In this context, Earth is similar to a magnetic bar with a north pole and a south pole. This means, the axis that crosses the Earth from pole to pole is like a big magnet.

Now, by convention, on all magnets the north pole is where the magnetic lines of force leave the magnet and the south pole is where the magnetic lines of force enter the magnet.

Then, for the case of the Earth, the north pole of the magnet is located towards the geographic south pole and the south pole of the magnet is near the geographic north pole.

And it is for this reason, moreover, that the magnetic field lines enter the Earth through its magnetic south pole (which is the geographic north pole).
