A 70.9-kg boy and a 43.2-kg girl, both wearing skates face each other at rest on a skating rink. The boy pushes the girl, sendin

g her eastward with a speed of 4.64 m/s. Neglecting friction, determine the subsequent velocity of the boy.

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

mass of boy m_b=70.9\ kg

mass of girl m_g=43.2\ kg

speed of girl after push v_g=4.64\ m/s

Suppose speed of boy after push is v_b

initially momentum of system is zero so final momentum is also zero because momentum is conserved

P_i=P=f

0=m_b\cdot v_b+m_g\cdot v_g

v_b=-\frac{m_g}{m_b}\times v_g

v_b=-\frac{43.2}{70.9}\times 4.64

v_b=-2.82\ m/s

i.e. velocity of boy is 2.82 m/s towards west

An object is placed at zero zero on a Number line. It moves three units to the right, then four units to the left, and then 60 u
STatiana [176]

Answer:

the displacement of the object is 5 units

Explanation:

The computation of the displacement of the object is shown below:

= Move to the right + move to the right - move to the left

= 6 units + 3 units - 4 units

= 9 units - 4 units

= 5 units

Hence, the displacement of the object is 5 units

Use the mass and volume data to calculate the density of liquid propane to the nearest hundredth.
Black_prince [1.1K]
Density = mass/volume
              = 4300/10000
              =    0.43 g/mL.

Therefore density of liquid propane is 0.43 g/mL.

Hope this helps!
