Answer

given,

initial speed = 0 m/s

acceleration of  +2.5 m/s^2 for time 7 s.

final velocity after 7 s

using equation of motion

v = u + a t

v = 0 + 2.5 x 7

v = 17.5 m/s

after 7 sec

Brake is applied, uniform acceleration = -3.0 m/s^2

time = 2 s

speed of the car after 2 s

initial velocity = 17.5 m/s

Again using equation of motion

v = u + a t

v = 17.5 - 3  x 2

v = 11.5 m/s

distance  the car has traveled when brake is applied

v² = u² + 2 a s

11.5² =17.5² - 2 x 3 x s

6 s = 174

s = 29 m

car has moved 29 m after application of the brake.

Why are the wheels on a roller coaster hot after a ride. (I know it’s due to friction but I need more of a detailed answer).
telo118 [61]
2 someone's glasses could fall of because of the inertia
roller coaster is in motion but your glasses are opposing and resisting that motion due to inertia....

1 there is a possibility that electrons move from wheels to the rail and vice versa which also means that it is producing some kind of electrical energy

In mammals, the weight of the heart is approximately 0.5% of the total body weight. Write a linear model that gives the heart we
hammer [34]

Answer:

1201 lbs

Explanation:

Given that in mammals, the weight of the heart is approximately 0.5% of the total body weight.

Let the weight of the heart of a mammal be H

And the weight of the total body be B

The linear model that can gives the heart weight in terms of the total body weight will be:

H = 0.005B

B.) To find the weight of the heart of a whale whose weight is 2.402 × 105 lbs, substitute the whole weight in the formula.

H = 0.005 × 2.402 × 10^5

H = 1201 lbs

Therefore, the weight of the heart of the whale is 1201 lbs

The coefficients of static and kinetic frictions for plastic on wood are 0.50 and 0.40,respectively. How much horizontal force w
IrinaK [193]

The horizontal force needed to start the calculator moving from rest is 1.5 N

What is Kinetic friction?

It is defined as a force that acts between moving surfaces.

The magnitude of the force will depend on the coefficient of kinetic friction between the two materials.

Here,

weight of calculator, N = 3 N

The coefficients of static frictions, µ (static) = 0.50

The coefficients of kinetic frictions, µ (kinetic) = 0.40

Now,

The horizontal force required = The static friction force

F = µ (static) * weight of calculator

F = 0.50 * 3.0

F = 1.5 N

Hence,

The horizontal force needed to start the calculator moving from rest is 1.5 N
