A house is 54.0 ft long and 48 ft wide, and has 8.0-ft-high ceilings. What is the volume of the interior of the house in cubic m
pshichka [43]

Explanation:

Length of house, l = 54 ft = 16.45 m

Breadth of house, b = 48 ft = 14.63 m

Height of house, h = 8 ft = 2.43 m

We need to find the volume of the interior of the house. The house is in the form of cuboid. The volume of cuboid is given by :

V=l\times b\times h

V=16.45\ m\times 14.63\ m\times 2.43\ m

V=584.81\ m^3

Since, 1\ m^3=1000000\ cm^3

or the volume of the interior of the house, V=5.84\times 10^8\ cm^3

Hence, this is the required solution.

Which two minerals are commercial sources of iron. explain why the answer is a?
vichka [17]

Answer:

Hematite and magnetite

Explanation:

Minerals such as Iron don’t occur alone due to its interaction with other elements. The Iron’s major source is usually through ores such as Hematite, Magnetite, limonite etc.

However Pure magnetite contains 72.4 percent iron and pure hematite contains 69.9 percent. They have the highest percentage of iron thereby making them the main sources.

Explain why the sound produced by every vibrating body cannot be heard by us ?
VMariaS [17]

Answer:

The human ear is not sensitive to every frequency of sound, rather, our hearing range is from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. This means sound frequencies outside this range are not audible to the human ear, which is why not every sound produced is heard. This is quite a blessing because if we could hear every vibrating body, then our ears would never stop listening: we won't be able to distinguish 'important sounds' from unimportant ones, rendering our ears effectively useless. Perhaps this is why we have a hearing range in the first place: sounds of our friends and our foes lie in 20Hz-20kHz range.

Let the resistance of an electrical component remain constant while the potential difference across the two ends of the componen
slamgirl [31]

Answer:

The current through it will also decrease to half of its former value because according to Ohm's law the current flowing through a resistor is directly proportional to the potential difference applied across its ends provided that the temperature and some other necessary conditions remain constant.

This is mathematically represented as follows;

V=IR.........(1)

The current is thus given as

I=\frac{V}{R}..............(2)

if R is constant and V is reduced to half, then we have the following;

I=\frac{V/2}{R}

Simplifying further we obtain

I=\frac{V}{2R}...........(3)

Equation (3) shows that the current I is also reduced to half.
