Answer:
            %age of Carbon is 42.10 %.

Explanation:
                   In order to find the %age of elements present in a molecule we will use following formula,

%age of Element  =  (Mass of Element / Mass of Molecule) × 100

The molecular mass of Sucrose is.

                                =  (12)12  +  (1)22  +  (16)11
Where;
            12  =  Atomic mass of Carbon

              1  =  Atomic Mass of Hydrogen

            16  =  Atomic Mass of Oxygen

                                  =  144  +  22  +  176

                                  =   342 g/mol
%age of C;
                                  =  (144 / 342) ×100  =  42.10 %

%age of H;
                                  =  (22 / 342) ×100    =  06.42 %

%age of O;
                                  =  (176 / 342) ×100  =  51.46 %

An iron bar of mass 841 g cools from 84°C to 7°C. Calculate the heat released (in kilojoules) by the metal.
Oduvanchick [21]

Answer:

28.75211 kj

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of iron bar = 841 g

Initial temperature = 84°C

Final temperature = 7°C

Heat released = ?

Solution:

Specific heat capacity:

It is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one gram of substance by one degree.

specific heat capacity of iron is 0.444 j/g.°C

Formula:

Q = m.c. ΔT

Q = amount of heat absorbed or released

m = mass of given substance

c = specific heat capacity of substance

ΔT = change in temperature

ΔT = 7°C - 84°C

ΔT = -77°C

By putting values,

Q = 841 g × 0.444 j/g.°C × -77°C

Q = 28752.11 j

In Kj:

28752.11 j × 1 kJ / 1000 J

28.75211 kj

stearic acid and linoleic acid stearic acid and linoleic acid stearic acid has the higher melting point, because it has two more
elena55 [62]

Acid palmitic acid has higher melting point, because it has two more methylene groups.

\text { Myristic acid } \rightarrow \mathrm{CH}_3\left(\mathrm{CH}_2\right)_{12} \mathrm{COOH} \\& \text { Palmitic acid } \rightarrow \mathrm{CH}_3\left(\mathrm{CH}_2\right)_{14} \mathrm{COOH} \\

Acid palmitic acid has higher melting point, because it has two more methylene groups.

Giving it a greater surface area and therefore more intermolecular  van der waals interact than the myristic acid.

stearic arid \mathrm{CH}_3\left(\mathrm{CH}_2\right)_{16} \mathrm{COOH}

linoleic acid \mathrm{C}_{18} \mathrm{H}_{32} \mathrm{O}_2 (two double bond)

Stearic acid has higher Melting point, because it does not have any Carbon-Carbon double bonds, whereas linoleic acid has two cis double bonds which prevent the molecules from packing closely together.

Oleic Acid and Linoleic acid.

\mathrm{C}_{18} \mathrm{H}_{34} \mathrm{O}_2-one double bond (cis)

Acid palmitic acid has higher melting point, because it has two more methylene groups.
