If the other driver is going speed limit you can't pass him but if he's going slower than the limit you have to go in the left lane i'm not sure by how much i'll guess 5mph<span />

A ball is thrown vertically upwards with a velocity v and an initial kinetic energy Ek. When half way to the top of its flight,
Mama L [17]

Answer:

Option A

\frac{V}{\sqrt{2} } ,\frac{E}{2}

Explanation:

When the ball its thrown up, at half way of its flight it means half of its vertical height which is \frac{h}{2}.

potential energy = mgh

since it moved half way of height

P.E = \frac{mgh}{2}

This means for the body to have gained half of its P.E, it will loose half of its kinetic energy.

Final kinetic energy(E_{1}) = E/2

kinetic energy = \frac{1}{2}mv^{2}

let the final velocity at halfway flight be v1

E_{1} = E/2

\frac{1}{2}mv_{1}^{2} =\frac{\frac{1}{2}mv^{2}}{2}

cross multiply we have

mv_{1}^{2} =\frac{1}{2}mv^{2}

cancel m from both sides

v_{1}^{2} = \frac{1}{2}v^{2}

take the square root of both sides,

v_{1} =\sqrt{\frac{v^{2} }{2} }

v_{1} =\frac{v}{\sqrt{2} }

Thus our final velocities will be E/2 and \frac{v}{\sqrt{2} }

The tires of a car support the weight of a stationary car. If one tire has a slow leak, the air pressure within the tire will __
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

The answer is E. Decrease, increase, decrease

Explanation:

The pressure within the tire wall is a result of the molecules of air colliding with the walls of the tire, if there is a leakage that means some or all of the air molecules will escape resulting in a decrease in the collision between the molecules and the tire wall which means the pressure decreases within the walls which also translates to a decrease in pressure exerted by the tire on the ground surface.

Before the leakage, the tire walls are kept tensed due to the internal pressure exerted by the air molecules. When the leakage occurs the air molecules escape and this makes the tire loose its firm upright shape thereby falling to the floor and creating an increase in the area of contact between the tire and the floor surface.

The force exerted on the floor by the tire is proportional to the the pressure exerted and the surface area through which this force is applied, though the pressure is seen to decrease and the surface area seen to increase, one must consider the weight loss due to the air molecules that escapes which causes the force to decrease.

A car with mass m-1000 kg completes a turn of radius r 540 m at a constant speed of v =25 m/s. As the car goes around the turn,
Nataly [62]

Answer:

friction coefficient on the rough road is 0.117

Explanation:

As we know that car is taking turn on flat rough road

So here we can say that required centripetal force for circular motion of car is due to frictional force

So we have

F_c = \frac{mv^2}{R}

now we have

\mu mg = \frac{mv^2}{R}

so we have

\mu = \frac{v^2}{Rg}

\mu = \frac{25^2}{540(9.81)}

\mu = 0.117

What determines whether a surface produces a specular reflection or a diffuse reflection?
rjkz [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

when the surface is super smooth, the light reflects in all the same. which makes a good reflection.  Like how a very calm lake can look like a mirror. the water gets very very smooth.  or a mirror is very smooth too.   If the surface reflects like more randomly.. like when a lake is rough or wind is blowing over it .. and there a small waves it's not a good "even" reflection.
