Answer: the more effective is using three 0.5-mL extractions with ether

Explanation:

Using 1.5 ml of ether

Q = [Vaq/(K×Vorg +Vaq)]^n

Q= remaining fraction

Vaq= volume of aqueous phase

Vorg= volume of organic phase

K= distribution coefficient

Using 1.5 ml ether once

Vaq= 1ml, K= 10, n=1

Q = [Vaq/(K×Vorg +Vaq)]^n

Q= [1/10×1.5+1)]^1 = 0.0625

Using 0.5ml ether 3 times

Q = [1/(10×0.5 +1)]^3= 0.0046

Hence using 0.5ml of ether 3 times is more effective

A speed time graph shows that a car moves at 20 m/s for 15s. The car's speed steadily decreases until it comes to a stop at 40s.
ladessa [460]
0s to 15s: constant speed/zero acceleration
15s to 40s: constant gradient, therefore constant deceleration

How is the molecule of a substance formed?
ollegr [7]

Answer:

A molecule exists when two or more atoms join together by forming chemical bonds. ... When atoms of at least two different elements come together to form chemical bonds, these molecules can be called compounds. Sodium chloride (NaCl) is a classic example of an ionic compound, or compound formed by ionic bonds.
