Drug misuse is when someone takes medicine in an unintended way, while drug abuse is when a person uses drugs in an illegal way.

Explanation:

Drug misuse simply refers to the inappropriate use of drug for the wrong purpose. The use of drug meant for someone else is a misuse of drug. Drug misuse have serious consequences on the body system. It works like a wrong prescription by a pharmacist.

Drug abuse is the simply the act of not following the instruction guiding the use of the drug on the label. This can lead to overdose of the drug whereby too much quantity of the drug is consumed. Under-dose of the drug also implies that less amount of the drug is used as stated. Drug abuse is very dangerous act and it can lead to serious health defect and addiction problems.

It is simply an illegal way of using drugs.

Both drug misuse and abuse implies that drug use does not follow due medical instructions and consultation.

A person uses a surfboard to ride every 30th wave crest towards the beach. The wave crest travels at a speed of 1.6m/s and the d
pashok25 [27]

Answer:

8

Explanation:

Applying,

v = λf................ Equation 1

Where v = velocity/ speed of the wave, λ = wave length of the wave, f = number of waves the person surf in one seconds.

make f the subject of the equation

f = v/λ............ Equation 2

From the question,

Given: v = 1.6 m/s, λ = 24 m

Substitute these values into equation 2

f = 1.6/24

f = 0.0667 wave/seconds.

If,

in one seconds, the person surf a total wave crest of 0.0667

Therefore,

in one hours, he will surf a total wave crest of (0.0667×60×60) = 240 waves crest

He rides for every 30th wave crest,

Hence,

number of wave crest the person surf in one hour = 240/30 = 8

An electron is initially moving at 1.4 x 107 m/s. It moves 3.5 m in the direction of a uniform electric field of magnitude 120 N
algol13

Answer:

K.E = 15.57 x 10⁻¹⁷ J

Explanation:

First, we find the acceleration of the electron by using the formula of electric field:

E = F/q

F = Eq

but, from Newton's 2nd Law:

F = ma

Comparing both equations, we get:

ma = Eq

a = Eq/m

where,

E = electric field intensity = 120 N/C

q = charge of electron = 1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ C

m = Mass of electron = 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg

Therefore,

a = (120 N/C)(1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ C)/(9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg)

a = 2.11 x 10¹³ m/s²

Now, we need to find the final velocity of the electron. Using 3rd equation of motion:

2as = Vf² - Vi²

where,

Vf = Final Velocity = ?

Vi = Initial Velocity = 1.4 x 10⁷ m/s

s = distance = 3.5 m

Therefore,

(2)(2.11 x 10¹³ m/s²)(3.5 m) = Vf² - (1.4 x 10⁷)²

Vf = √(1.477 x 10¹⁴ m²/s² + 1.96 x 10¹⁴ m²/s²)

Vf = 1.85 x 10⁷ m/s

Now, we find the kinetic energy of electron at the end of the motion:

K.E = (0.5)(m)(Vf)²

K.E = (0.5)(9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg)(1.85 x 10⁷ m/s)²

K.E = 15.57 x 10⁻¹⁷ J

Sergei uses a lever to lift a heavy rock. He obtains a 2.5m lever and places the fulcrum 0.7m from the rock. What is the ideal m
Anit [1.1K]

Answer:

m = 3.57

Explanation:

Given that,

Sergei uses a lever to lift a heavy rock. He obtains a 2.5m lever and places the fulcrum 0.7m from the rock.

We need to find the ideal mechanical advantage of Sergei's lever.

It is equal to the ratio of resistance arm to the effort arm. In terms of length it is given by :

m=\dfrac{d_2}{d_1}\\\\m=\dfrac{2.5}{0.7}\\\\=3.57

So, the ideal mechanical advantage of the lever is 3.57.

A 60 kg student is standing atop a spring in an elevator that is accelerating upward at 3.0 m/s2. The spring constant is 2.5 x 1
dimaraw [331]

the spring will be compressed by 0.3072 m

Explanation:

acceleration of elevator=3 m/s²

mass of student= 60 Kg

spring constant=2.5 x 10³ N/m

the force on the student is given by F = m ( g +a)

F=60 (9.8+3)

F=768 N

now the formula for spring force is given by

F= k x

768= 2.5 x 10³ (x)

x=0.3072 m

Electrons flowing towards south are deflected towards east by a magnetic
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

The magnetic field is upwards.

Explanation:

You have to use "Right-hand rule", but for electrons, the direction of the magnetic force should be reversed.
