How do you read the periodic table? I'm in ninth grade and working on my science class (I do my schoolwork online..) so I don't

have a teacher to actually explain how to do it. The way they had it explained didn't make sense to me,\nSo I was wondering if anyone knew how to explain how to read the periodic table the simplest way?\nIt would...

I'm an 11th grader taking physical science so I'm currently learning this.

First you need to have your periodic table labeled.

My teacher made us do it with 3 different colors. 2 for non-metals and 1 for metals as the picture I have with this answer shows.

Next you have to know the different parts of an element on the periodic table.

The top left of an element is the atomic number.

The middle of an element is the chemical symbol, which is the abbreviation of the element

The next word you see near the bottom middle is the name of the element

And then the bottom of the element is the atomic mass.

Ex:

Hydrogen
1. Atomic Number : 1
2. Symbol : H
3. Name: Hydrogen
4. Atomic Mass : 1.007....

You read a periodic table like you read a book, left to right.

If there's anything in particular you need to know about the periodic table, let me know

What assumptions do we make in order to use the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation? a. Both the weak acid and its conjugate base are
zepelin [54]

Answer:

The final and initial concentration of the acid and it's conjugate base are approximately equal, that is we use the weak acid approximation.

Explanation:

The Henderson-Hasselbalch is used to calculate the pH of a buffer solution. It depends on the weak acid approximation.

Since the weak acid ionizes only to a small extent, then we can say that [HA] ≈ [HA]i

Where [HA] = final concentration of the acid and [HA]i = initial concentration of the acid.

It also follows that [A^-] ≈ [A^-]i where [A^-] and[A^-]i refer to final and initial concentrations of the conjugate base hence the answer above.

a volumetric pipette haas an uncertainty of 0.01 cm what are the lowest and highest possible volumes for a measurement of 0.20cm
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer:

Possible lowest volume = 0.19 cm

Possible highest volume = 0.21 cm

Explanation:

Given Data

uncertainty = 0.01 cm

total volume = 0.20 cm

Possible lowest volume = ?

Possible highest volume = ?

Solution:

Possible lowest volume = total volume - uncertainty

Possible lowest volume = 0.20 cm - 0.01 cm

Possible lowest volume = 0.19 cm

Possible highest volume = total volume + uncertainty

Possible highest volume = 0.20 cm - 0.01 cm

Possible highest volume = 0.21 cm

What is a synthesis reaction? a reaction that occurs when two or more reactants combine into one product
dmitriy555 [2]

Answer:

A synthesis reaction is a reaction that occurs when two or more reactants combine into one product.

Explanation:

A reaction that occurs when two or more reactants combine into one product is called a synthesis reaction.

A reaction that occurs when one element within a compound is exchanged with another element is called a single replacement reaction.

A reaction that occurs when a substance combines with molecular oxygen, releasing light and energy is called combustion.

A reaction that occurs when a single substance breaks apart and forms two or more new substances is called decomposition.
