Calculate the pH of a buffer solution made by adding 15.0 g anhydrous sodium acetate (NaC2H3O2) to 100.0 mL of 0.200 M acetic ac

id. Assume there is no change in volume on adding the salt to the acid. (pKa for acetic acid is 4.74 or Ka is 1.8 x 10-5)3.

Answer:

pH of Buffer Solution 5.69

Explanation:

Mole of anhydrous sodium acetate = \frac{Given mass}{Molecular mass}

                                                           = \frac{15}{82}

                                                           = 0.18 mole

100 ml of 0.2 molar acetic acid means

= M x V

= 0.2 x 100

= 20 mmol

= 0.02 mole

Using Henderson equation to find pH of Buffer solution

pH = pKa + log\frac{[Salt]}{[Acid]}

     = 4.74 + log\frac{0.18}{0.02}

     = 4.74 + log 9

     = 5.69

So pH of the Buffer solution = 5.69

What is the pressure of the ideal gas when the volume is decreased to 4.0 L and the temperature is increased to 265 K?
jonny [76]
It is an ideal gas therefore we can use the ideal gas equation to solve the problem. The ideal gas equation is expressed as PV = nRT. First, we solve the amount of the gas in moles using the said equation and the first conditions.

(2.0 atm) (5.0 x 10^3 cm^3) = n (82.0575 atm.cm^3/mol.K)(215 K)
n=0.5668 mol

Using the second conditions given, we obtain the new pressure.
P (4.0 x 10^3) = 0.5668 x 82.0575 x 265
P= 3.08 atm

5-8 complete sentences paragraph, explaining why you would want to make a change to help our ecosystems. (including a change you
lesya [120]
Global warming affects many processes in biological ecosystems. Different species of flora and fauna change their habitats and geographical areas according to climate change and specific geographical environments. Areas of occurrence of specific species, for example insects in terrestrial areas and fish and arthropods in the seas and oceans, change. Bird habitats change, so migrations of some bird species may also be subject to modification. In the situation when forest areas dry out and turn into steppes and deserts, changes in natural habitats and areas of occurrence of species change and concern simultaneously many species of flora and fauna.

The most unusual characteristic of Uranus is _____.
fiasKO [112]

Answer:

the axis is tilted at 98 degrees

Explanation:

Uranus is blue, not green; it has an atmosphere of hydrogen and helium, not methane. While it does have an icy cold temperature, that's not a very unusual characteristic for an outer planet. However, the tilt of the axis is unusual; no other planet is tilted almost completely on its side!

Un profesor desea preparar una disolución de agua oxigenada al 20%v/v y dispone solamente de 50 cm3 h2o2 ¿qué volumen d disoluci
Sergeeva-Olga [200]

Answer:

250cm³ de disolución se deben preparar

Explanation:
