A fisherman is fishing from a bridge and is using a "44.0-N test line." In other words, the line will sustain a maximum force of

44.0 N without breaking. What is the weight of the heaviest fish that can be pulled up vertically, when the line is reeled in (a) at constant speed and (b) with an acceleration whose magnitude is 1.26 m/s2?

Answer:

(a) W= 44N

(b)W= 31.65 N

Explanation:

Data

T=44 N : Maximum force that the rope can withstand without breaking

Newton's second law:

∑F = m*a Formula (1)

∑F : algebraic sum of the forces in Newton (N)

m : mass in kilograms (kg)

a : acceleration in meters over second square (m/s²)

(a)  We apply the formula (1) at constant speed , then, a=0

W: heaviest fish that can be pulled up vertically

∑F = 0

T-W =0

W = T

W= 44N

(b)  We apply the formula (1) , a= 1.26 m/s²

W: heaviest fish that can be pulled up vertically

W= m*g

m= W/g

g= 9.8 m/s² : acceleration due to gravity

∑F = 0

T-W = m*a

T= W+(W/g)*a

44=W*(1+1/9.8)* (1.26 )

44= W* 1.39

W= 44/1.39

W= 31.65 N

Answer:

the  force exerted by the seat on the pilot is 10766.7 N

Explanation:

The computation of the force exerted by the seat on the pilot is as follows:

F = Mg + \frac{MV^2}{R}\\\\= 70 \times 9.81  + \frac{70 \times 120^2}{100}\\\\= 10766.7 N

Hence, the  force exerted by the seat on the pilot is 10766.7 N

A car started from a rest and accelerated at 9.54 m/s2 for 6.5 seconds. How much distance was covered by the car?
ElenaW [278]

Explanation:

S =ut + 1/2at^2

S = 0×6.5 + (1/2 × 9.54) × 6.5^2

S =0 + 4.77 ×42.25

S=201.5m

A strong man and a weak man are trying to carry a ladder . How should they carry it in such a way that the weak person feels les
dsp73

Answer:

The strong person should carry the ladder at the  front end and the weak person should carry it at the back end.

Explanation:

this is because in such a case the strong person has to pull the ladder whereas the weak person at the back end have to push the ladder. In such case it is easier to push because the weak person can use the force of gravity of his own body for pushing the ladde.

However in case of pulling the ladder one has to overcome his own gravity to pull the heavy object
