Explain the uses of displacement time graph

Physics

A sloping line on a displacement-time graph shows that the object is moving. In a displacement-time graph, the slope or gradient of the line, is equal to the velocity of the object. The steeper the line (and the greater the gradient) the faster the object is moving.

How can wind put off fire?
kipiarov [429]
♥ If the wind is strong enough it can do so.
♥ By having a strong enough wind you can blow out the fire before the flame can consume any more vapor.
♥ If the wind is fast enough, like a birthday cake candle for example, the wind will burn out.

An object of mass m travels along the parabola yequalsx squared with a constant speed of 5 units/sec. What is the force on the
Dmitriy789 [7]

Explanation:

The object is moving along the parabola y = x² and is at the point (√2, 2). Because the object is changing directions, it has a centripetal acceleration towards the center of the circle of curvature.

First, we need to find the radius of curvature. This is given by the equation:

R = [1 + (y')²]^(³/₂) / |y"|

y' = 2x and y" = 2:

R = [1 + (2x)²]^(³/₂) / |2|

R = (1 + 4x²)^(³/₂) / 2

At x = √2:

R = (1 + 4(√2)²)^(³/₂) / 2

R = (9)^(³/₂) / 2

R = 27 / 2

R = 13.5

So the centripetal force is:

F = m v² / r

F = m (5)² / 13.5

F = 1.85 m

A ball is hung from a rope, making a pendulum. When it is pulled 5° to the side, the restoring force is 1.0 N. What will be the
Trava [24]

Answer:

restoring force is 2 N

Explanation:

given data

angle pulled = 5°

force = 1 N

pulled = 10°

to find out

restoring force

solution

we know here force

force = m×g×sinθ     ..........1

so here θ is very small so sinθ = θ

1 = mg(5)

mg = 1 /5     ..................2

and

now for 10 degree

we know here θ is small so sinθ = θ

so from equation 1

force = m×g×sinθ

put equation 2 here

force = 1/5 × 10

force = 2 N

so restoring force is 2 N

Find the equilibrant of two 10.0-N forces acting upon a body when the angle between the forces is 90° Solve graphically using a
bazaltina [42]

The equilibrant force of the two given forces is 14.14 N.

What is equilibrant force?

  • This is a single force that balances other given forces.

The given parameters:

  • First force, F₁ = 10 N
  • Second force, F₂ = 10 N
  • Angle between the forces, θ = 90⁰

The equilibrant force of the two given forces is calculated as follows;

F = \sqrt{F_1 ^2 + F_2 ^2} \\\\F = \sqrt{(10)^2 + (10)^2} \\\\F = 14.14 \ N

Thus, the equilibrant force of the two given forces is 14.14 N.
