Answer:

This is because dust storms lasting for weeks cause the atmosphere to change color.

Explanation:

Dust is a major component in the mars atmosphere . A dust storm that lasts long period will effect the visibility , atmospheric structure of the mars . There are two types of storms that are found on mars , one of them is covered large areas and last for more than six days in mars . The second one covers smaller areas and stays for short interval of time . Scientists even discovered few storms which last more than 15 to 20 martian days which are responsible for color change.

A weightlifter lifts a 250-kg mass 0.5 meters above his head, how much PEg does the mass have (Note: g=9.8 m/s2)? Round your ans
Anna71 [15]
The Gravitationa potential energy of the mass (PEG) is given by:
U=mgh
where
m is the mass
g is the gravitational acceleration
h is the heigth of the mass above the reference level (the ground)

In this problem, m=250 kg and h=0.5 m, therefore the gravitational potential energy of the mass is:
U=mgh=(250 kg)(9.8 m/s^2)(0.5 m)=1225 J

A 1,600 kg train car rolling freely on level track at 16 m/s bumps into a 1.0 × 103 kg train car moving at 10.0 m/s in the same
emmainna [20.7K]
This item is solved through the concept of the conservation of momentum which states that the momentum before and after collision should be equal.
                                   momentum = mass x velocity
            (1,600 kg)(16 m/s) + (1.0x10^3 kg)(10 m/s) = (1600 + 1000 kg)(x)
The value of x is 13.69 m/s. Thus, their final speed is approximately letter D. 14 m/s.

A shoe and a shirt are released from the same height. They take different amounts of time to fall to the ground. How can this be
Law Incorporation [45]

The best explanation for the difference in time is: A. The difference in weight doesn't affect the time, but they are affected differently by air resistance.

What is weight?

Weight can be defined as the force acting on an object or a physical body due to the effect of gravity. Also, the weight of an object (body) is typically measured in Newton.

The factors that affect weight.

Some of the factors that affect the weight that is possessed by an object or a physical body include the following:

  • Mass
  • Distance
  • Air resistance

In conclusion, the weight possessed by the shoe and shirt has no effect on time but would be affected differently by air resistance.

Car a with mass 1,783 kg collides with stationary 1600 kg car b. they become locked together after the collision and move with s
ValentinkaMS [17]

The initial speed of car A is 15.18 m/s.

Momentum is defined as mass in motion. If there are two objects (the two objects in motion or only one object in motion and the other in stationary) that collide and no other forces work in the system, the law of momentum conservation applies in the system.

p=p'

pa+pb = pa'+pb'

(ma×va) + (mb×vb) = (ma×va') + (mb×vb')

  • ma = mass of object A (kg) = 1,783 kg
  • mb = mass of object B (kg) = 1,600 kg
  • va = speed of object A before collides (m/s)
  • va' = speed of object A after collides (m/s) = 8 m/s
  • vb = speed of object B before collides (m/s) = 0 m/s
  • vb' = speed of object B after collides (m/s) = 8 m/s
  • p = momentum before collision (Ns)
  • p' = momentum after collision (Ns)

(ma×va) + (mb×vb) = (ma×va') + (mb×vb')

(1,783×va) + (1,600×0) = (1,783×8) + (1,600×8)

(1,783×va) + 0 = 14,264+12,800

(1,783×va) = 27,064

va \:=\: \frac{27,064}{1.783}

va = 15.18 m/s
