The 94-lb force P is applied to the 220-lb crate, which is stationary before the force is applied. Determine the magnitude and d
Makovka662 [10]

Answer

given,

force = 94 lb

weight of crate = 220 lb

Assuming the static friction be equal = 0.47

                       kinetic friction = 0.36

Maximum force applied to move the object is when object is just start to move.

F = μ N

F = 0.47 x 220

F = 103.4 lb

As the frictional force is more than applied then the object will not move.

so, the friction force will be equal to the force applied on the object that is equal to 94 lb.

hence, the direction of force will left.

Certain rifles can fire a bullet with a speed of 950 m/s just as it leaves the muzzle (this speed is called the muzzle velocity)
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

a) By v^2 = u^2 + 2as => a= 70291.70.

(b)By v = u + at => t= 1.58 ms.

(c)By v^2 = u^2 - 2gh => H = 46045.92 m.

Explanation:

a) By v^2 = u^2 + 2as

(950)^2 = 0 + 2 \times a \times 0.75\\a = 601666.67 m/s^2\\a/g = 688858.70/9.8 = 70291.70

(b)By v = u + at

950 = 0 + 601666.67 \times t\\t = 1.58 x 10^-3 sec = 1.58 ms

(c)By v^2 = u^2 - 2gh

0 = (950)^2 - 2 \times9.8 \times H\\H = 46045.92 m

Of the planets with atmospheres, which is the warmest?<br> a. Venusb. Earthc. Marsd. Jupiter
tangare [24]

The Atmosphere in Jupiter is full of gases that move at high speeds in giant eddies. Its atmosphere consists mostly of gases such as hydrogen that generate a temperature fluctuation of around 128K.

On Earth, due to the protection of the Ozone Layer and the presence of Nitrogen and Oxygen, the temperature fluctuates by an average of 300K.

In the case of Mars, its atmosphere is thin, mostly composed of Carbon Dioxide and Diatomic Nitrogen, which allow a temperature oscillation of 210K.

In contrast, the atmosphere of Venus is thick and is composed of carbon dioxide that does not allow the sun's rays to escape, generating an extreme 'greenhouse effect' with temperatures ranging from 737K,

Correct Answer is A.

Jeff puts on a leather jacket over his sweater. The sweater becomes negatively charged. Which statements about Jeff’s situation
KiRa [710]

The sweater has a tendency to attract electrons.

The leather jacket has a lower tendency to attract electrons than the sweater.

Explanation:

The sweater and the leather jackets are made up of distinct fabrics that based on their minutest particles called an atom.

An atom is made up of sub-atomic particles of protons, neutrons and electrons.

  • Electrons occupies the bulk volume of the atom and they are easily lost in atoms that are big. They are negatively charged.
  • Protons are positively charged and are very difficult to lose. They occupy the tiny nucleus with neutrons.
  • A body that becomes negatively charged will be said to have a hihg tendency to attract electrons. Normally atoms are electrically neutral. When additional electrons are added to them, they become negatively charged.
  • In this case, the sweater has a high affinity for electrons and it will attract the ones on the leather jacket.
  • The leather jacket has a low tendency to attract electrons than the sweater and it will lose some of its electrons to the sweater.
