Answer:

[Cl⁻] = 1.2 M

Explanation:

Equation of the disssociation of Iron (II) chloride is given below:

FeCl₃ -------> Fe³⁺ + 2Cl⁻

from the dissociation equation, 3 moles of Cl ions are produced from the dissociation of FeCl₃.

In a 0.40 M solution of FeCl₃, the concentration of Cl⁻ ions will be 0.40 * 3 = 1.20 M

Therefore, the concentration of Cl⁻ ions, [Cl⁻] = 1.2M

The average density of a planet is 3.05 g/cm3. What is its density in kg/m3? (Enter your answer in scientific notation.)
jasenka [17]

Answer:

3.05 ×10³ Kg/m³

Explanation:

Density:

Density is equal to the mass of substance divided by its volume.

Units:

SI unit of density is Kg/m3.

Other units are given below,

g/cm3, g/mL , kg/L

Formula:

D=m/v

D= density

m=mass

V=volume

Symbol:

The symbol used for density is called rho. It is represented by ρ. However letter D can also be used to represent the density.

Given data:

Density = 3.05 g/cm³

Density in Kg/m³ = ?

Solution:

In order to convert the g/cm³ to  Kg/m³ we will multiply the value with 1000.

3.05 g/cm³ × 1000 Kg/m³ / 1 g/cm³

3050 Kg/m³

In scientific notation:

3.05 ×10³ Kg/m³

The detonation of some amount of TNT causes the volume of nearby gas to increase from 10.0 L to 90.0 L (the pressure remains con
Gnom [1K]

Internal combustion energy for TNT(Trinitro toluene) is found to be  -170 kJ.

Internal energy= (- heat evolved by the system) + Work done by the system

ΔU = -Q+W

W = - PΔV

P= pressure

ΔV =difference in volume

Given,

V1 = 10 L

V2 = 90 L

∴ΔV = V2-V1 = 90-10 = 80 L

P = 1 atm

∴W = - ( 1× 80)

      = -80 kJ

Heat evolved by the system = 90 kJ

∴Δ U= - 90 kJ - 80 kJ

       = - 170 kJ

Thus, Internal combustion energy for TNT(Trinitro toluene) is found to be -170 kJ.

NOTE : here work done by the system is considered negative and also heat evolved by the system is taken -Ve.
