Answer:

atomic mass of X is 48.0 amu

Explanation:

Let y be the atomic mass of X

Molar mass of O_2 is = 2×16 = 32 g / mol

X + O2 -----> XO_2

According to the equation ,

y g of X reacts with 32 g of O_2

24 g of X reacts with Z g of O_2

Z = ( 32×24) / y

But given that 24.0 g of X exactly reacts with 16.0 g of O_2

So Z = 16.0

⇒ (32×24) / y = 16.0

⇒ y = (32×24) / 16

y= 48.0

So atomic mass of X is 48.0 amu

Calculate the value of the diffusion coefficient D (in m2/s) at 547°C for the diffusion of some species in a metal; assume that
svetlana [45]

Answer : The value of diffusion coefficient is, 2.97\times 10^{-16}m^2/s

Explanation :

Formula used :

D=D_o\times \exp \left(-\frac{Q_d}{RT}\right )

where,

D = diffusion coefficient = ?

D_o = 5.6\times 10^{-5}m^2/s

Q_d = 177kJ/mol

R = gas constant = 8.314 J/mol.K

T = temperature = 547^oC=273+547=820K

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get:

D=5.6\times 10^{-5}m^2/s\times \exp \left(-\frac{177kJ/mol}{(8.314J/mol.K)\times (820K)}\right )

D=2.97\times 10^{-16}m^2/s

Thus, the value of diffusion coefficient is, 2.97\times 10^{-16}m^2/s

The tablet has a mass of 1.20 g and contains 700 mg of lithium carbonate.
kondaur [170]

Answer:

The right answer is "58.3%".

Explanation:

The given values are:

Mass of lithium carbonate,

= 700 mg

i.e.,

= 0.7 g

Mass of tablet,

= 1.20 g

Now,

The percentage of active ingredient will be:

=  \frac{Mass \ of lithium \ carbonate}{Mass \ of \ tablet}\times 100

On substituting the given values, we get

=  \frac{0.7}{1.20}\times 100

=  0.583\times 100

=  58.3%
