Answer:

The final pressure of the gas sample at constant temperature is 1.20 atm.

Explanation:

Boyle's Law : Volume occupied by fixed amount of gas at a given temperature is inversely proportional to pressure .(moles, temperature are constant )

P\alpha \frac{1}{V}

P = \frac{k}{V}

on transposing ,

PV = constant

P_{1}V_{1} = P_{1}V_{1}............(1)

Initial pressure = P1 = 2.00 atm

Final pressure = P2 = ?

Initial volume = V1 = 300.0 mL

Final volume = V2 = 500.0 mL

Putting values of P1 ,V1, V2 in equation (1) and solving for P2

P_{1}V_{1} = P_{1}V_{1}

2\times 300 = P_{2}\times 500

P_{2} = \frac{2\times 300 }{500}

P_{2} = 1.2

P2 = 1.20 atm  at constant temperature

3. How many atoms in 3.91 moles of sodium?
Gala2k [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

The formula for sodium is Na. It does not form a molecule in some way.

1 mol Na = 6.02*10^23 atoms

3.91 mol = x                                    Cross multiply

x = 3.91 * 6.02 * 10^23

x = 23.65 * 10^23

x = 2.365 * 10^24

Scientific notation is always expressed as a number 1 ≤ x < 10
