If 45.8 grams of MgO are dissolved in 205 grams of water, what is the concentration of the solution in percent by mass?

Mass of solute = 45.8 g

Mass of solvent = 205 g

solute / ( solute + solvent )

45.8 / ( 45.8 + 205 )

45.8 / 250.8

= 0.182 x 100 = 18.2% by mass
