Answer:

Option C = same period.

Explanation:

All these elements belongs to second period of periodic table. This period consist of eight elements lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine and neon.

Electronic configuration of lithium:

Li₃ = [He] 2s¹

Electronic configuration of beryllium:

Be₄ = [He] 2s²

Electronic configuration of boron:

B₅ = [He] 2s² 2p¹

Electronic configuration of carbon:

C₆ = [He] 2s² 2p²

Electronic configuration of nitrogen:

N₇ = [He] 2s² 2p³

Electronic configuration of oxygen:

O₈ = [He] 2s² 2p⁴

Electronic configuration of fluorine:

F₉ = [He] 2s² 2p⁵

Electronic configuration of neon:

Ne₁₀ = [He] 2s² 2p⁶

All these elements present in same period having same electronic shell.

However their families, valance electrons and group are different. Boron have three valance electrons and belongs to group 3A. Carbon belongs to group 4A and have 4 valance electrons. Nitrogen belongs to group 5A and have five valance electrons. Oxygen belongs to group 6A and have six valance electrons. Fluorine belongs to group 7A and have seven valance electrons.

Consider the formula for glucose: C6H12O6. What does this indicate about the relationship of the reactants to glucose?
stellarik [79]

The correct option is D.

The reactants that combine together to form glucose are carbon dioxide, water and energy from the sun. Six molecules of carbon dioxide combine with six molecules of water in the presence of sunlight to form glucose. The chemical equation for the reaction is given below"

6CO2 + 6H2O + Sunlight = C6H12O6.

Write the overall, balanced molecular equation and indicate which element is oxidized and which is reduced for the following rea
REY [17]

Explanation:

Mg(s) + Cr(C2H3O2)3 (aq)

Overall, balanced molecular equation

Mg(s) + Cr(C2H3O2)3(aq) --> Mg(C2H3O2)3(aq) + Cr(s)

To identify if an element has been reduced or oxidized, the oxidation number is observed in both the reactant and product phase.

An increase in oxidation number denotes that the element has been oxidized.

A decrease in oxidation number denotes that the element has been reduced.

Oxidation number of Mg:

Reactant - 0

Product - +3

Oxidation number of Cr:

Reactant - +3

Product - 0

Note: C2H3O2 is actually acetate ion; CH3COO- The oxidatioon number of C, H and O do not change.

Oxidized : Mg

Reduced : Cr

The pOH of a solution is 9.21. Calculate the hydrogen ion concentration of the solution. Be sure to report your answer to the co
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:

[OH-] = 6.17 *10^-10

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

pOH = 9.21

Step 2: Calculate [OH-]

pOH = -log [OH-] = 9.21

[OH-] = 10^-9.21

[OH-] = 6.17 *10^-10

Step 3: Check if it's correct

pOH + pH = 14

[H+]*[OH-] = 10^-14

pH = 14 - 9.21 = 4.79

[H+] = 10^-4.79

[H+] = 1.62 *10^-5

6.17 * 10^-10 * 1.62 * 10^-5 = 1* 10^-14
